Prince William's 'Good Parent Move' Praised by Travis Kelce

Prince William has won parenting praise from Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, after the football star was introduced to Britain's future king and two of his children at girlfriend Taylor Swift's "Eras" tour show in London last week.

On a new episode of Kelce's joint podcast with his brother, Jason, the sports star praised William for encouraging Prince George and Princess Charlotte to take the lead in conversation when meeting Swift and her entourage at the show.

"I got to meet Prince William...dude, he was the coolest motherf*****. He was so cool...He was there with little George and Charlotte and they were an absolute delight to meet," he told New Heights listeners.

William attended Swift's "Eras" tour show at Wembley Stadium in London on June 21, his 42nd birthday. While the Kelce brothers said meeting William was "fantastic," it was the royal's children who made an impact on the pair.

"Prince William was fantastic but the highlight was Princess Charlotte...She was so f****** adorable," Jason said, to which Travis responded: "She was a superstar."

"I cannot express...maybe it's because I have three girls now," Jason continued. "She had a fire to her, she was asking questions, that was the most electric part of the [meeting]."

This confidence and encouragement to hold a conversation with adults was something that impressed the brothers, with Travis telling podcast listeners: "I love it when parents ask their kids to be present, be vocal."

"They encouraged them to take lead in the conversation," Jason added, with his brother going on to praise William.

"Such a good parent move," he said. "Just a good meet and a picture and keep it moving? No. Listen, let them have a moment, let them feel comfortable in talking to people. There's nothing worse than a f****** kid just walking in and just being..."

This was interrupted by Jason who told his brother: "Let's not s*** on kids!"

"No, I'm s****** on parents not encouraging their kids to do that," the football star responded. "If anybody's doing it right, Prince William's doing it right. So, thank you your royal highness, it was awesome meeting you."

Newsweek approached Kensington Palace via email for comment.

William's night out with his children came as the Wales family has faced increased public focus and scrutiny over the past six months, relating to Princess Kate's stepping out of the public eye while undergoing cancer treatment.

As their mother faced her health challenges throughout the first half of the year, George, Charlotte and their younger brother, Prince Louis, also maintained a low public profile.

On June 15, the family made their first joint appearance of the year at a royal ceremony as they attended the Trooping the Colour celebrations in London.

The appearance followed a positive health update from Princess Kate, who despite noting that she is still receiving chemotherapy treatment and is "not out of the woods yet," revealed that she feels able to begin working from home and hopes to make some public appearances over the summer.

After William, George and Charlotte's outing to the Swift concert in London, the star's official social media channels, along with those of Kensington Palace, shared photographs of the royals meeting her and Kelce.

"Happy Bday M8!" Swift captioned her image. "London shows are off to a splendid start."
