Owner Discovers Cat Using Exercise Wheel, But Not How She Was Expecting

An overweight cat has left the internet in stitches after its owner revealed what it does with its exercise wheel instead of using it properly.

In a post shared on TikTok on Sunday by @g.mmuniz, the chunky grey and white cat can be seen lying down on the exercise wheel, taking a comfortable nap instead of using it to move his body.

The video was shared in response to a user's comment in a previous post: "The exercise wheel in the corner doesn't look utilized." The cat's owner tagged that user in the new video's caption and wrote, "You're right."

While cats love taking naps during the day, it's also important for them to keep active so they don't become overweight, which, as cute as it looks, can be dangerous for the animal's health.

According to the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA), if your cat is slim and active and spends time playing during the day or taking walks around the neighborhood, it likely won't need much extra exercise to stay healthy.

However, if they don't have access to the outdoors or are a little overweight, you should consider introducing exercise to their daily routine to get them back into shape.

For beginner cats, two sessions of around 15-20 minutes each will be enough to get them started. However, it is very important that you do not force them to do anything they don't want to do. You can encourage them with their favorite toys.

The video quickly went viral on TikTok, earning over 192,500 views and 28,400 likes on the platform so far.

One TikTok user, Nerdella, commented, "I was planning to buy an exercise wheel now I'm having a second thought."

"LOL I have a girl cat that looks like yours and is like 25-30lbs big asl she'd do the same thing," commenter Abby said.

Another user, OnlyFlans wrote: "Just gotta get that resting heart rate, a little stretch and cat will be good to go! ... to bed probably."

Commenter Malovon81 wrote: "You, buys exercise wheel, so the cat can run. The cat: 'Not round here partner, not round here."
