Laughter as Bride Regrets Letting Fiancé Have 'Creative Input' for Wedding

A bride who asked her fiancé for some "creative input" for their upcoming wedding has shared the hilarious reason why she regretted that decision, and it's left social media users laughing.

Like many brides, TikTok user @isabelltzer wants her nuptials to feel personal, as well as a true representation of the couple's relationship. For that reason, they decided to get creative with the details, even down to the plates they will use at the wedding dinner.

In a viral video, @isabelltzer revealed that they painted their own plates for the big day, but her fiancé's artistry didn't quite match her own. She decorated a white plate with a floral pattern and the date of their wedding. The groom opted for a nautical theme instead, choosing to paint a speedboat on the water.

The clip has received more than 4.9 million views and over 882,600 likes in just days.

Layered over the video is wording that reads: "Painting plates to use for our wedding dinner and having to remind myself it's his wedding too." A caption says: "Letting pookie have a little creative input."

There's no doubt that a lot of planning (and stress) goes into planning a wedding, which is why couples want every part of it to be note perfect. While the priorities will vary for each couple, a survey by wedding website The Knot revealed that personalization was the most important element for 63 percent of respondents.

Other important factors included taking good care of guests, 75 percent; budgeting, 64 percent; and the overall vibe, 62 percent.

Aside from painting plates, there are other ways that couples can personalize their wedding day to make it feel just right for them. The Knot says that 21 percent of couples included a special custom related to their cultural or religious backgrounds, while 44 percent chose unique musical choices that reflected their tastes, such as rock music or bagpipes.

Additionally, 57 percent of those surveyed chose to honor friends and family who, sadly, couldn't be there to celebrate with them.

How Did TikTokers Respond?

Since the video of the plate painting went viral, @isabelltzer has delighted TikTok users with a follow-up video revealing the finished design. She said that the theme for their August nuptials is "wildflower garden party," so her floral plate design certainly fits the bill perfectly.

Her fiancé's boat design, however, is a little off the mark, but she loves both plates nonetheless.

In just four days, the hilarious clip has amassed over 560 comments on TikTok. Plenty of people lauded her fiancé for putting his own spin on the wedding theme.

One comment reads: "Ok but he did a great job."

Another person responded: "Wait but the boat in the sunset is so cute, I love it."

But not everyone agreed. Another TikToker joked: "This is why I'd go alone and bring the finished plates."
