LAS VEGAS — Dalton Knecht delivered 20 points to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 93-89 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA 2K25 Summer League in Las Vegas on Thursday evening at Thomas and Mack Center.

The Lakers got out to a strong start and held a four-point advantage after one quarter. The Cavs turned up their play in the second and outscored the Lakers 30-22 to claim a four-point edge by halftime. They kept the momentum going in the third and rallied to a 12-point lead before the Lakers cut it back to a four-point game heading into the final quarter. The Cavs managed to stay in front for most of the fourth but the Lakers closed on a 9-0 run to secure the win.

Knecht shot 7-for-16 from the field and tallied seven rebounds and a steal to supplement his team-high scoring effort for the Lakers. Bronny James followed up with 13 points on 5-for-10 shooting, five rebounds, three assists and two blocks, while Colin Castleton accumulated 12 points, six rebounds, seven assists and a steal.

Jaylon Tyson led the way for the Cavs with 21 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 32 minutes of action. Pete Nance followed up with 16 points, two rebounds, three assists and a block, while Emoni Bates added 14 points on 4-for-18 shooting.
