In this small group guided tour, an official Museum guide will take you through Liberation Pavilion, The National WWII Museum’s final permanent exhibit hall. In the first-floor galleries, In Honor of David W. Trott Finding Hope in a World Destroyed, learn of the price paid by American servicemembers in service to their country, as well as the horrors of the Holocaust, the story of Anne Frank, faith in wartime, and the Monuments Men and Women.
As you move through The Goldring Family Foundation and Woldenberg Foundation Forces of Freedom at Home and Abroad (1945–Present) galleries on the second floor, you will hear of the rebuilding efforts in the aftermath of the largest armed conflict in human history and learn about the lasting legacies of the war. You will also explore the war crimes trials, the emergence of the US as a world “superpower,” movements for social change and civil rights, new technological innovations, and the war’s impact on foreign policy.
Your guide will bring the stories of Liberation Pavilion to life through the use of artifacts, displays, and personal stories from those who experienced the war and postwar years firsthand. You will consider how World War II has affected your own life and explore how the war changed the world forever.
