minware Overview

minware’s Software Development Observability Platform combines data from version control, ticketing, calendar, and other systems to provide complete visibility into the software development process – helping you to quickly answer deep questions about how your team builds software.

Data Sources and Time Modeling

minware incorporates data from a variety of software development systems, including version control, ticket tracking, calendars and more. For more information about configuring data sources, see the Source Integrations page.

A key component of minware’s observability platform is using data from multiple sources to construct models of each person’s schedule and how they spend their time, both from an active work perspective, and from an overhead cost allocation perspective. Please see the time model documentation for more details.

Report Template Library

minware takes a choose-your-own-adventure approach. This is different from legacy dev analytics tools, which offer preset reports with narrow filtering and customization options.

At minware, we’ve invested in total customization – essentially building a product that lets you build any report on the market today (and more) with a point-and-click interface.

At the same time, it’s important when rolling out observability to build on what others have done and not reinvent the wheel, which is why we have created the report template library.

The report library offers templates covering multiple data sources for a variety of use cases and applications. You can browse all templates in the report library, and each report has its own documentation.

Custom Report Builder

The nerve center of observability is minware’s custom report builder. It offers the power of a business intelligence tool like Tableau for your development data with a simple point-and-click interface.

You can quickly create charts that combine data from multiple sources to show high-level insights, and drill into the details of specific items.

The custom report builder documentation has detailed information about its capabilities.

Scorecard

minware’s Scorecard offers a library of metrics that track how consistently teams follow best practices for predictable software delivery. You can find many of these scorecard metrics in report library templates, or view them directly in the scorecard report.

For more detailed information about what the scorecard contains and how to use it, please see the scorecard documentation.

Built-in Reports

minware also has a variety of built-in reports for specific purposes. You can learn more in the report walkthrough.
