The Oprah Opportunity: Winfrey Launches An App For 'Insiders'

Oprah Winfrey may no longer run the Oprah Winfrey show on TV, but she is very active in other media channels. For instance, she and Hearst just debuted The Oprah Insider Community, a social app and digital experience tied to the Oprah Daily website.

The goal is to allow Oprah Insiders to learn and engage with Winfrey herself, and with Editorial Director Pilar Guzmán, Editor at Large Gayle King, Creative Director Adam Glassman and fellow members of the community.

The platform launched in beta in July and Winfrey kicked off the launch with her weekly Insider-only intention video.

“We see how engaged our Oprah Daily Insider members are, so spent the last few months building a place for this community to gather online—a place to unpack learnings from our latest class, debate the ending of a book club pick, vent, chat, and, most of all, share their joy, journeys and “aha” moments,” Winfrey says. “Above all, it’s a place of empathy, diversity and open mindedness, where we can cheer each other on to live our best lives and be our most authentic selves.”

The app features daily prompts to inspire readers and breakout areas where they can find their individual “villages.”

The Oprah Daily website was launched in 2021 with Hearst.

Give Winfrey her due: she has rarely experienced professional disappointment.  This new community looks like a boon for Oprah fans.
