Couture Pre-Fall 2024

Pre-Fall 2024 Marchesa Couture draws inspiration from legendary Empresses of the Byzantine Empire. These powerful women were highly regarded and respected, and many wielded great influences over imperial affairs; several governing the empire in their own right.

Vivid and iconic Byzantine colors are seen throughout the collection; regal purple, golden brown, pink, dark navy, vibrant teal, and red sit next to fair accents of blush, pale blue, and silver. Embroideries are rich and bold in metallics and crystal in deep shimmering colors. Strung pearl fringing creates a liquid energy combined with masterful draping.

Key elements include golden and bronze chain weaving, delicate tulles and chiffon in braid-like patterns in Grecian looks, and linear starburst embroideries that embody glittering Byzantine mosaics. Fabrics are silky, sophisticated, and artfully draped with artistic flair.
