Welcoming new people to the industry and investing in their success through training and mentorship is the best contribution we can make to the industry, our customers, and the future of our company. In partnership with Job Corps, we welcomed skilled trades interns to a summer long pre-apprenticeship program, and today they celebrated graduation from the program with a Signing Day, all joining unions as official apprentices continuing their education with jobs at Fessler & Bowman.

Massive well done Claire Cleaver. This is the first time we've used apprenticeships in the interim team at Solace and although its undoubtedly been a lot of hard work for Claire, its provided us with an opportunity to offer structured and supported learning, in a way which we've sometimes struggled to fit in, around the pressures of running a demanding interim service for our clients. The feedback for Claire is outstanding and shows her clear alignment to our Solace values and our commitment to excellence. "Claire, your professional discussion showcases your deep understanding of the recruitment industry and your strong commitment to delivering exceptional service to both clients and candidates. Your responses demonstrate a keen awareness of the importance of building and maintaining relationships, as well as your ability to adapt to the unique needs and expectations of each client. Your proactive approach to communication and your dedication to providing honest, transparent feedback throughout the recruitment process are commendable. One of your key strengths is your dedication to candidate care. Your regular check-ins, feedback provision, and efforts to ease anxiety during the onboarding process showcase your empathy and understanding of the candidate experience." Well done Claire, this is a real achievement and one you should be very proud of.
CONGRATULATIONS to Claire Cleaver in gaining a Distinction grade for the Recruitment Consultant Apprenticeship. Claire has demonstrated fantastic skill and knowledge throughout the apprenticeship journey, with this final grading being a testament to all the hard work. It's very clear you have a bright future ahead of you in the recruitment industry. Well done Claire. Martin Thornton

Elevate Your Brand with Multifamily X Media | Strategic Advisor for Supplier Partners and PropTech | Facilities & Maintenance Consulting
The multifamily space faces a significant shortage of skilled maintenance professionals. How can we address this challenge effectively? The solution lies in a paradigm shift: transitioning from buying talent to actively nurturing it. Instead of competing for a shrinking pool of skilled workers, let's focus on developing our own talent. Here’s how: ✅ Invest in Apprenticeships: Establish programs that cultivate talent from within, offering hands-on learning experiences. ✅ Create Inviting Environments: Build workplaces that attract and retain newcomers, fostering a sense of belonging and growth. ✅ Engage Early: Initiate early engagement with high school students through career fairs, starting conversations about opportunities in maintenance from the 10th grade onward. I'd love to hear how your company navigates the challenge of securing qualified maintenance staff for your properties. Share your strategies and experiences in the comments below!

Following an eventful National Apprenticeship Week, our Skills Group held its first meeting of 2024 yesterday. Members reflected on the week's events, emphasising the importance of sustaining apprenticeship momentum year-round, and reinforced calls for a reformed Apprenticeship Levy as a priority for the next Government. We heard that the Form the Future CIC Apprenticeship Careers Fair saw a turnout of 1,200 young people, highlighting a strong local appetite. Discussions also covered the Local Skills Improvement Plan and Fund, with insights from Adeline Winshaw and Charlotte Horobin of the Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce sparking conversations about the many opportunities for collaboration and partnership for skills development in Cambridgeshire. We also heard from Jon Datta, Nicky Shepard, and our Chief Executive, Dan Thorp about exciting plans emerging to create more opportunities and improve outcomes in the Abbey Ward of the city. More on this coming soon. With all these projects ahead, 2024 promises to be an exciting and important year for skills development. #Apprenticeships #SkillsDevelopment #NAW2024
