We’re excited to share the news that one of our Information and Communications Technology (ICT) trainees, Connor, has been featured on SA Gov's Student Pathways website, with a testimonial about his experience completing a traineeship, and his outstanding work with the Department for Education! After starting a university degree in ICT, Connor decided that a traineeship would give him a better start, enabling him to study in the same field while earning a wage. With the help of MEGT’s Recruitment and Management Services team, Connor was able to commence his traineeship and get into the workforce while gaining a nationally recognised qualification. Check out Connor’s inspiring story and watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/gfTPh5vA #GroupTrainingOrganisation #GTO #VocationalTraining #ICT

MEGT celebrates the inspiring journey of Lucinda Delatorres, a passionate automotive refinishing apprentice navigating the challenges of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and being a mature age apprentice. Her story highlights the vital role of mentorship in fostering success in the trades. Driven by a lifelong passion for working on cars, Lucinda pursued her Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology. However, her journey has included challenges, especially when transitioning between workplaces. “The workplace culture was affecting my love for it,” she remarked about her first placement. Thanks to the steadfast support of her MEGT mentor, Kristen Roberts, Lucinda found the strength to seek out a more supportive environment. “Kristen was there for me, checking in regularly and helping me navigate the trade industry. Just knowing someone had my back made all the difference. I told all the apprentices to go to MEGT!” Learning to embrace her ADHD as a unique asset, Lucinda has turned her hyper fixation into a strength in her craft. Navigating the trades can be overwhelming, but her hands-on approach allows her to engage in diverse tasks throughout the day. As Lucinda beautifully puts it, “We all make mistakes; we shouldn’t expect to be perfect instantly. It takes time and practice.” At MEGT, we believe that mentorship is key to building resilient and thriving professionals in any industry. Lucinda’s journey reinforces our commitment to providing the tools, guidance, and advocacy needed for individuals to succeed, especially those facing unique challenges. Lucinda continues to aspire to open her own custom painting and pinstriping shop. "I couldn’t recommend MEGT enough. They’ve been a constant in my journey, ensuring I’m not alone.”

Yesterday, MEGT was proud to host a Community Connect event in Broome to celebrate our return to the Outback Western Australia employment region as an Apprentice Connect Provider. Almost 100 local employers, career experts, education providers and representatives from the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations attended the event, held at the Broome Surf Life Saving Club. State MP for Kimberley Divina D’Anna was among the guest speakers. She told the audience: “Apprenticeships and traineeships are stepping stones towards sustainable employment for our local people, businesses and communities”. We also heard from Chris Mitchell, Broome Shire President, who said MEGT’s presence was a “step towards creating more local employment pathways”. This event was a great opportunity to make genuine connections with a community which contributes so much to the national economy.
