At Smithfield, our employees are the heart of our company. This week, we celebrated their dedication at the 2024 ROI Awards Ceremony where we honored team members exemplifying our core values of Responsibility, Operational Excellence and Innovation. From hundreds of nominations, we proudly recognized 21 finalists, six winners, and three grand prize winners.

At Smithfield, we strive to bring people together through our food and our communities; the places where we live, work and raise our families. In our St. Charles, IL community, we recently sponsored their annual Scarecrow Weekend, which hosts more than 80,000 people for food, scarecrow building, games and more!

Our Sioux City, IA facility, where we produce Curly’s brand products, recently received the Linda Schneid Legacy Award from the Food Bank of Siouxland. The award recognizes an individual or organization that has supported the food bank over the course of many years in its mission of fighting hunger throughout the local community. Since our partnership began ten years ago, we have donated over one million pounds of Curly’s product.

At Smithfield, we believe in the power of food to bring people together and sustain our local communities. As one of the world’s leading food companies, we're committed to addressing hunger and food insecurity to ensure nutritious meals reach our neighbors who need them most, evident through our partnership with the North Carolina State Fair and Smithfield Hunger Relief Day, the largest one-day food drive in the state.

At Smithfield, we're not just standing on the sidelines this fall, but rather getting in the game with a scoreboard donation to the Pocosin Innovative Charter School in Creswell, NC. This school teaches agriculture courses that emphasize hands-on and project-based learning. With six facilities and hundreds of family farmer partners across North Carolina, we are proud to support schools prioritizing agricultural education.

Earlier this week, our Warsaw maintenance team nailed it by participating in a home repair volunteer event in Duplin County. The event, sponsored by Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry North Carolina (WARM NC), mobilizes volunteers and contractors to make urgent, safety and health-related repairs for low-income homeowners in Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, New Hanover, Onslow and Pender counties.

Smithfield, in partnership with United Supermarkets, recently donated more than 30,000 pounds of pork products to South Plains Food Bank in Lubbock, Texas. This partnership provides nutritionally important protein and deepens our impact in feeding the fight against hunger.

At Smithfield, we proudly serve those who served us, our veterans. In North Carolina, we recently joined the Triangle Veterans Wellness Outreach Center for their Veterans Stand Down event. This event provides 1,200 veterans and their families with access to professional medical personnel, assistance with VA benefits and claims, resources on housing, lunch and more.

In St. Charles, IL, our team and facility are partnering up to put hunger on the back burner this fall with a 15,000-pound product donation to the Northern Illinois Food Bank in Geneva, IL. At Smithfield, we not only seek to produce "Good food. Responsibly.®" but also ensure those in our communities have access to it.

At Smithfield Foods, our truck drivers are the backbone of our operations. They navigate the roads with precision and care to deliver not just our products, but also reliability and trust. That is why we are proud to invest in the next set of drivers through Bladen Community College’s new truck driver training program and the donation of a refrigerated trailer.
