This #HungerActionMonth, we’re proud to announce the donation of 400,000 pounds of Perdue chicken to 10 food banks along the East Coast, from Delaware to Georgia, and a $140,000 investment in childhood hunger relief programs as part of our ongoing commitment to alleviating food insecurity in our communities. Hunger is a widespread issue, affecting 1 in 7 people, including 1 in 5 children, in the U.S., and as a food company, we recognize our responsibility to help deliver hope to our neighbors. Together with Feeding America, we’re working to raise awareness and inspire action to combat hunger in America. We encourage everyone to get involved, whether it’s through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word. No one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. This week, University of Maryland Extension new faculty members joined Perdue Farms Chief Animal Care Officer, Mike Levengood, for a tour of our organic farm in Denton, MD. The tour offered the group the opportunity to better understand the scale of the poultry industry in Maryland, and learn about Perdue’s footprint on the Eastern Shore and animal care practices.   At Perdue, we value transparency and are proud to open our doors to those interested in learning more about our programs, goals and progress. #PerdueProud

We're proud of our associates who helped deliver a little hope to our furry neighbors today at the Humane Society of Wicomico County in Salisbury, Maryland. The delivery included more than 200 pounds of a variety of pet food and supplies donated by associates and the company contributed 400 pounds of Full Moon® Pet Treats. This is a great example of how our associates bring to life our company’s Delivering Hope To Our Neighbors® outreach to improve quality of life and build strong communities.
