#HispanicHeritageMonth We honor and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. This year's theme is "Esperanza: A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage and Hope." Let's pause and consider what this month-long celebration means. Aarón Sánchez (chef) made a short video for Hispanic Heritage Month worth watching: https://lnkd.in/gzn4nnmw. Thank you to everyone who supported the Finding Nemo Jr. 50/50 raffle. The winning ticket was pulled at Friday night's show (0890), and 50/50 raised just shy of $6,000. The winning number was 0890! Congrats to the winner, and again, we appreciate everyone who contributed to NJFH. and our Finding Nemo Jr. debut of our Theater Initiative. Please know that everyone who sponsored, purchased a playbill ad or greeting, donated, purchased a ticket, a concession stand item, a souvenir bracelet or a 50/50 has supported the arts at NJFH. We thank you!

We sincerely thank everyone who came out on Thursday or Friday Night (or in many cases, both nights) to our Day Program's production of Finding Nemo Jr. The show was a phenomenal success. Our Cast and Crew went above and beyond to make this show a great experience for all! Thank you to our Sponsors: PSEG, Greater Bergen REALTORS® Care Foundation, and Hackensack Meridian Health Hackensack University Medical Center. Your support warms our hearts. We also appreciate everyone who placed an ad in our playbill or made a donation. All of this support will help ensure future shows! To our volunteers who helped throughout this process, especially at the shows, backstage, and at the Concession Stand, checking in our theatergoers and selling bracelets, tickets, and 50/50 tickets! The Rosen Performing Arts Center inside the Wayne YMCA was a great venue to see a show. Thank you to their staff as well! To the families of our cast and our Day Program Staff, who ensured our members were at rehearsals twice a week over these last few months. It was a journey, for sure. Did you know that the cast comprised members from three of our programs? This meant getting to know new people, making friends, and learning to work as a cast ensemble. It was such an excellent collaboration! We can't wait to hear what is next for the Theater Initiative! Here are only a few pictures from last night. More to follow.

This week is DSP (Direct Support Professionals) Week. Our life skills coaches and senior life skills coaches at NJFH are perfect examples of DSPs. It's also fitting that our production of "Finding Nemo Jr." takes place during DSP Week. These staff members have been ensuring that our cast attends rehearsals twice a week since auditions and role assignments. We can't wait! Tickets are still available at https://ow.ly/VoyH50TlCBg. #BuildingSkills #DSPWeek #OurCastandCrewRock

Patriot Day, observed on September 11, honors the memory of the innocent victims who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. It is hard to believe that it has been 23 years. We remember those who were lost on that day and those who continue to suffer from illness due to the aftermath. We will never forget! #PatriotDay
