Are you prepared for the inevitable snow and ice that come with winter? Driving in arctic conditions can be challenging, but with the right precautions, you can stay safe on the road. Here are some essential tips for winter driving safety: 1. Prepare your vehicle. That means checking your tires for good tread depth, battery health, fluid levels and wiper blades. 2. Check weather reports for severe winter storms and road closures. Do not drive unless necessary. 3. Reduce your speed during icy conditions and increase your distance between the vehicle in front of you. 4. Customize an emergency kit for your vehicle for your location and climate. Include a blanket, flashlight, first aid kit, water, snacks, ice scraper and a shovel. If stranded, only run the heater for 10 minutes per hour, and make sure the tailpipe is clear of snow and ice before starting the vehicle. 5. Remain calm and patient. Allow extra travel time and be prepared for delays. If you start to skid, steer in the direction that the vehicle is sliding until you can feel your vehicle regain traction. Then, slowly straighten your wheels and keep rolling. 6. Use low beams at night and wear sunglasses during the day as snow can be reflective. Stay safe out there this winter, and remember: a little preparation goes a long way! Let’s look out for each other on the roads and make this season enjoyable.

As FIRE PREVENTION WEEK kicks off from October 6-12, it’s a crucial time for all of us to renew our commitment to safety. For businesses, ensuring fire safety isn't just a regulatory requirement—it's a moral obligation. Here are some key steps to consider: 1. Make sure your fire escape routes are clearly marked and accessible. Regularly review and practice evacuation plans with your team. 2. Schedule and execute fire drills to ensure everyone knows their role and can react swiftly in an emergency. 3. Verify that fire alarms, extinguishers and sprinklers are in working order. Regular maintenance is essential to keeping these systems reliable. 4. Offer training on fire prevention, including safe practices for handling flammable materials and the importance of keeping exits clear. 5. Keep storage areas organized and free of clutter, and ensure electrical systems are regularly checked by professionals. By taking these steps, we not only safeguard our assets but also protect the lives of our employees and customers. Let's make FIRE PREVENTION WEEK a time to reaffirm our dedication to safety and prepare for the unexpected. https://ow.ly/9xit50TqkN6
