What an incredible few days with everyone together at the inaugural National Tribal Housing Ecosystem Summit. Thank you Rudy Soto for speaking at the Summit and sharing your wisdom. Your words speak for us all — a massive thank you to all of the Tribal, housing, and private and public sector leaders who attended this week, and are committed to finding solutions for more affordable housing in rural and Tribal communities. #AffordableHousing #NativeHousing
I was absolutely blown away by the inaugural National Tribal Housing Ecosystem Summit hosted in Boise, Idaho by Enterprise Community Partners and Freddie Mac. I’m deeply grateful to have collaborated with Enterprise’s Director of Tribal Affairs Tonya Plummer & Former HUD Secretary / Enterprise CEO Shaun Donovan, who pulled together this very special event. Huge thanks to all of the Tribal, housing, private & public sector leaders from across the country who attended and are committed to finding solutions to provide affordable housing in rural and Tribal communities. The White House, USDA, HUD, and the Department of the Interior have all been working hard on lowering housing costs and participated in the Summit. It was incredibly meaningful to have Idaho’s senior United States Senator Crapo offer keynote remarks, updating everyone on his recent formation of a bipartisan Community Development Finance Caucus and the legislative efforts he's undertaken to expand public and private-sector support for Community Development Financial Institutions and Minority Depository Institutions. CDFIs play a critical role in providing access to capital in low-income, rural, and underserved communities. Great reconnecting with so many friends & colleagues in my home state and making new connections. Can’t wait for the next Summit! 🇺🇸 🏠

Thank you Ricardo! It was great to have you with us this summer as part of the Enterprise Community Loan Fund team. We can't wait to see what you'll do!
As I conclude my internship at Enterprise Community Partners, I wanted to share a bit about this past summer! For the past two months, I have been working as a Real Estate Analyst Intern on the Enterprise Community Loan Fund (CDFI) team, learning both about capital programs as well as lending. It has been an incredible experience to learn about how a national CDFI works. I have been able to participate in many cool projects, including working with an underwriter on closing a loan, analyzing closed-loan data on Enterprise's Equitable Path Forward Initiative, and writing blog posts highlighting the work that our borrowers are doing! Throughout the whole summer, it was an honor to work with such intelligent and mission-driven people. I would like to thank Anna Smukowski and Briana Flynn for welcoming me onto the team this summer, Quincy Johnson for the mentorship, Idaima Robles for teaching me how to underwrite a loan, and Melinda Clemons, MBA and Jessica Eiland Anders for welcoming me into the Detroit office! I had a very memorable summer, and it definitely solidified my interest in learning more about the CDFI industry. I cannot wait to continue to further explore this field in the future!

YIGBY — Yes in God’s Backyard. Houses of worship across the country are working with programs like Enterprise's Faith-based Development Initiative (FBDI) to transform their under-utilized land into affordable housing for their community. Mid-Atlantic market leader and FBDI head David Bowers shares with The Economist, “it’s radical common sense.” https://bit.ly/3T7by64

“For too long, we’ve talked about the issues, the barriers, and how hard it is. It’s time to talk about the strength of Indian country.” Thank you KTVB News Group for covering our National Tribal Housing Ecosystem Summit as leaders across Indian country convened in Boise, Idaho this week to inspire new ideas, partnerships, and investment opportunities to grow Tribal ecosystems that support housing development, homeownership, and economic development.
