What an incredible few days with everyone together at the inaugural National Tribal Housing Ecosystem Summit. Thank you Rudy Soto for speaking at the Summit and sharing your wisdom. Your words speak for us all — a massive thank you to all of the Tribal, housing, and private and public sector leaders who attended this week, and are committed to finding solutions for more affordable housing in rural and Tribal communities. #AffordableHousing #NativeHousing
I was absolutely blown away by the inaugural National Tribal Housing Ecosystem Summit hosted in Boise, Idaho by Enterprise Community Partners and Freddie Mac. I’m deeply grateful to have collaborated with Enterprise’s Director of Tribal Affairs Tonya Plummer & Former HUD Secretary / Enterprise CEO Shaun Donovan, who pulled together this very special event. Huge thanks to all of the Tribal, housing, private & public sector leaders from across the country who attended and are committed to finding solutions to provide affordable housing in rural and Tribal communities. The White House, USDA, HUD, and the Department of the Interior have all been working hard on lowering housing costs and participated in the Summit. It was incredibly meaningful to have Idaho’s senior United States Senator Crapo offer keynote remarks, updating everyone on his recent formation of a bipartisan Community Development Finance Caucus and the legislative efforts he's undertaken to expand public and private-sector support for Community Development Financial Institutions and Minority Depository Institutions. CDFIs play a critical role in providing access to capital in low-income, rural, and underserved communities. Great reconnecting with so many friends & colleagues in my home state and making new connections. Can’t wait for the next Summit! 🇺🇸 🏠
