A Video abstract presents highlights of a manuscript accepted for publication in a short format (less than 5 minutes in length). View the latest Video abstracts for examples.
Include the following in your video:
For any content such as as figures or images that has been published elsewhere, secure permission from the publisher and/or copyright holder before including it in your Video abstract.
Note: Journal-specific slides, including the article title and author list, will be added by staff prior to posting on the site.
Video abstracts are hosted on the Journal’s YouTube account.
If you choose to add text, diagrams, or schematics to your video, ensure they are visible at the minimum frame size (see above). Use at least a 12-point text size equivalent. See examples below.
If such items are not easily readable at the minimum frame size, we may request that the text be redone or decide not to post your video. We strive to obtain excellent videos that will highlight the quality of research published in the Journal.
You may create a Video abstract using a third-party or professional service, as long as the resulting video conforms to the guidelines above; or produce the video yourself. In particular, you can use Microsoft PowerPoint to create videos from slides, with accompanying audio.
To submit a Video abstract for an accepted manuscript, contact Journal staff at [email protected].
