At the end of the War Games the second Doctor is put on trial and sentenced to exile on Earth and forced to regenerate. Halfway through this the Doctor is kidnapped by a group of Timelords and put through a second trial. The partly regenerated Doctor (The Interim Doctor) is put up against the Daleks and, if successful, will continue his Exile on Earth in the familiar form of the third Doctor. Many years later, after lots of adventures battling monsters and saving planets the Tardis doors open to reveal a new dawn.
