“I am not anger.
Anger is a storm passing over me.
So I take deep breaths until I feel calm,
like wind blowing away a storm.”
Lauren Martin, Anger is a Storm

“I am a very violent person,
Yet nobody has seen my violence.
I've kept it overwhelmed all my life,
With a heart full of gentleness.”
Abhijit Naskar, Amor Apocalypse: Canım Sana İhtiyacım

Ioan Petru Culianu
“omul e conditionat, traieste in limitele principiului psihologic al compensatiei: orice exces din partea constiintei produce o reactie de sens contrar din partea inconstientului”
Ioan Petru Culianu, Hesperus

“A pompous, arrogant, narcissistic intellectual came up to me at a conference and said rather boastfully.

"You must feel really good about yourself to be the nice guy all the time! But let me tell you something - it takes balls to say what's really on your mind. You might have heard, the best defense is a good offense..."

He went on and on for a while, and the more he spoke the more his intolerant nature became evident. I listened to everything he had to say, then heaved a soft sight, and replied with a smile.

"You are absolutely right! Ama senin gibi şerefsiz olmak insanın lazım yok - porque, no soy un hijo de puta como tú - nu okka chetta na kodakkala behave cheskovachhu, kaani naaku anthaa scene ledu."

He looked rather annoyed, because all my words went over his head, so he flared out, "don't beat around the bush, man - say, what you want to say!"

I spoke calmly. "I'd love to speak my mind, but I wouldn't want to give anyone an inferiority complex. Bad behavior don't make us cool, it only exposes the fool we are. If bad behavior made the world better, we'd already be living in utopia, instead of still struggling for basic human rights."

I didn't want the argument to linger any longer, so I asked him to join me for lunch. You see, self-regulation is not a sign of weakness, it's a sign of strength. It doesn't take any character for the animal to be animal, but the true test of character is to behave human, upon conquering our inner animal.”
Abhijit Naskar, Mucize Misafir Merhaba: The Peace Testament

“Every time I have something to say, I ask myself three questions - is it right, is it necessary, is it human!”

“What do you take me for!
Brain scientist here!
You know what it means?
It means I know your deepest fantasies as well as your darkest secrets - it means I know more about you than you know about yourself.

Yet have I ever belittled you?
Never!
You know why?
Because, by knowing the worst in you I came to now the best in you. Know your worst my friend - for once you conquer your worst you'll automatically manifest your best.”

“The Human Animal (A Sonnet)

The civilized know how uncivilized they are,
The uncivilized insist on being deemed civilized.
The victor knows the fallacy of being the victor,
The wise knows there is no such thing as being wise.
The real human is aware of their inhuman predispositions,
While the inhuman fails to acknowledge all primitive bent.
And there is no question of the rise of civilization,
If there is no question of questioning the self.
The animal is animal for it lacks the brain capacity,
For self-correction beyond the need of self-preservation.
But more animal than animal is the so-called human being,
That despite having the brains, fails to act in ascension.
It is no human that does not know how animal they are.
The animal becomes human, the moment it becomes aware.”

“Esperanza Impossible Sonnet 30

There is nothing free about your will,
All of it is conditioned to the hilt.
If you are to foster any original will,
A lot of soil you've got to till.
Perception is not observation,
Perception is prediction.
The brain doesn't care about observing,
It only puts forward a self-serving illusion.
Your will is but puppet to that illusion,
Which means you are but a puppet to evolution.
You do have the brain power to take control,
But it'll take a lot of inconvenient self-correction.
If you can do that, you shall rise as sapiens.
Or you'll just end up as compost in nature's garden.”
Abhijit Naskar, Esperanza Impossible: 100 Sonnets of Ethics, Engineering & Existence

“Upon conscientious acts of self-correction civilization unfolds. Animals gotta live by instincts, we can't choose the same road.”

World will know the human outside.
Resist no more the darkness within,
World will wake up to a dawn divine.”

“Choose your words carefully,
Moderate your beliefs consciously.
Observe your ignorance cautiously,
Humanize your behavior conscientiously.”

“I own just two 5 dollar tshirts - one is my regular wear, another my backup for washdays. And for my travels I own two 10 dollar shirts and two 20 dollar jeans, which are also used for my book covers. I don't need more, I don't buy more. This is not minimalism, it's called self-regulation - the lack of which has led to the shallow, judgmental, privilege-craving prick of a society we live in today. It's not about saving money, it's about humanizing money, by using it wisely, not just for individual benefit, but collective benefit.

Buy the things you need the most, save a little for rainy days, and use the rest to lift up the fallen. Any citizen who masters this simple humanitarian habit, is no longer obligated to pay taxes to the government. And when enough citizens of the world make it the mantra of their life, not just to lift themselves, but each other, the governments of the world are automatically rendered obsolete.

Government is funded by the people - then the governments use those funds to manufacture war, in order to further sustain the democratic cashflow that keeps them in business. Therefore, when people pull their funds and redirect them themselves, towards actual, tangible, humanitarian initiatives, there isn't going to be a government. It's only the humanitarian indifference of the citizens that keeps governments alive, that in turn keep borders and wars alive. Once the citizens are actually, genuinely, nontheoretically accountable of the welfare of society, beyond the prehistoric paradigm peddled by the state, all Capitol, Kremlin and White Hall will crumble to dust.”

One primeval another civilized.
Animal awareness prevents death,
Human awareness preserves life.”

“Grownup Happiness (The Sonnet)

I don't do Netflix,
I don't binge for adrenaline.
I find it far more soothing to
listen to old BBC radio shows
while I do my writing.

Happiness is not a matter of exhilaration,
Happiness is a matter of moderation.
Just because all the monkeys are partying,
doesn't mean you gotta give submission.

So I say, get your priorities straight,
Happiness will take care of itself.
If you don't know to draw your own lines,
That's not freedom, but apish descent.

I don't scroll till I pass out,
I don't drink till I feel sick.
Happiness means happy-in-less,
Trends don't bring you peace.”

“[Mindfulness] is one of those mushy buzzwords that I’d always despised until I began to understand it was a really effective tool to create distance between my thoughts and myself, to wedge even a sliver of space between some stimulus and my knee-jerk response.”
Peter Attia, Outlive: The Science & Art of Longevity
