Shelley grew up in Missouri, graduated from Oklahoma State University, and took post graduate courses from OSU and the University of Wyoming.

She's a member of RWA, Sisters In Crime (SinC), and Houston Literary Guild. She writes daily, striving to perfect a voice that supplies enjoyable and memorable reads.

She has yet to meet a person she doesn't like or a job that's not worth enjoying. She writes with humor, drama, and a desire to share life's precious moments.

2. Seek on-going education to sharpen your skills. No matter how much we know, it always helps to refresh or learn a different way of accomplishing a task.
3. Be nice.
4. Be patient. If your first book struggles, don't give up. Keep writing. Success in any endeavor doesn't happen overnight. Every great author didn't get there overnight, they struggled and revised just as you will.
5. Don't quit your day job.
6. Write what you love, not what you think is popular. I've sometimes struggled with this...but you will be happiest if you stick with your own preferences.(less)
