“Listen, sweetheart. Don't be a hero. [...] If they actually go through with this hare-brained notion and send you into the fighting, there will come a time when you'll have a choice between staying in your trench and crawling out of it to save a buddy. Or maybe you'll have had enough of getting shelled and decide you just have to run out there and shoot someone. That's what I mean. When that moment comes, you stay down. You keep your head down. You hug the ground.”

To the innocent, her eyes are arresting. To a person with something on his conscience, they seem too knowing.”

I'm starting Front Lines asap! My library actually got it in and I'm very excited to be the first to take it out
Hi, I just love your books and I recently just finished The Messenger of Fear. So I wanted to buy The Tattooed Heart, but noticed there is a short story before that, The Snake and you have also written a short story before Adam & Eve. I really want to read those short stories, but I can only find them as Kindle version and since I don't have a Kindle I hoped you could help me, if I could buy them anywhere as a paperback? Thanks in advance ^^

Basically, that was what I was going to say to you, Michael. You are my second author to friend me and I feel like going on top of Mount Everest and screaming to the whole world, "I LOVE YOU MICHAEL GRANT AND LAURIE HALSE ANDERSON FOR ACCEPTING MY FRIEND REQUESTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU SO TOTALLY ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
That felt so weird of me but whatever. For a girl that no one really looks at completely, and an outcast who spends her elementary school recess time reading in a corner all by myself, it feels like I'm walking on cloud 9 (whatever the heck that's supposed to mean). I adore the Gone series and am getting my friend to try to read it. I love how it has a little bit of everything. From sex and drugs to anorexia and lesbians. And throw in a bunch of teenagers trapped in a bubble with no adults and have to be there in a year where they develop powers and fight against evil and hunger. I have to say, I wasn't that fond of the ending (view spoiler) , I still love your way of writing. Michael, you have made my month, heck, my year . YOU ROCK.

I just need to say, that I LOVE your books. The Gone Series was so amazing! I Literally read it day and night, till my mom start yelling at me because it was late.
I wanted to jump around like a little girl -and a fan- when I got the notification. So... just thank you, because you made this book nerd the happiest person in the world.

When will Light be coming out on paper back? I need it for my Gone paperback collection (which I display proudly)
Oh. My. God. I really don't know what to say. I keep telling myself "Authors are normal people who can write super well" but then I say to myself, "No. They are gods and do magic." Then I have this huge argument with myself. Then I go and read a book. Or do homework, depending on the circumstances.
I love your books so much. I recommend them to everyone, I'm not even kidding. So, like my friend is telling me about all these types of murder and torture that she knows and I'm like, "Hey, you'll love the Gone series. The first one's more mellow but then they get REALLY violent." When I was reading them the only thing that stopped me from reading all night was my parents coming in and getting mad at me. Solution: I got a flashlight. It's a pretty sucky flashlight but I use it until one, by which my parents are asleep, then I turn on my actual light.
I really have to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for accepting my friend request. I was just checking my email like I do every day after school and I got an email from Goodreads: Hello Elephant, Michael Grant has accepted your friend request. I basically died then came back to life. I bow down to you.

Love Gone but haven't read Light yet. In my delusion if I don't read Light then Gone will be forever. Never end. Won't be gone. Still here. You get the picture. I hate it when a series ends that I am really enjoy. I could say it's bitter sweet but i don't get that either. Bitter and sweet, isn't that like opposite? Anyway, I will read Light and then I am going to try BZRK. I have been putting it off because I am afraid it won't live up to Gone but I think I will take the plunge.
Thanks for all the beautiful reading you have provided for me these past couple of years.

hi Mr Grant
I just finished reading Light, and I am so sad now that its over, its like I lost a whole load of friends... I have to tell you that the end surprised me, even though it really shouldn't because it seemed like an obvious ending. but because I knew u were the author i expected it to be different, u know..., but im glad it ended this way! some of my favourite characters are still here but I lost some I never thought I would lose :( did u intend to make the ending take the readers by surprise? so thank you so much for filling, like, my past four years with this amazing and disturbing world u created... and im going to miss it so so much... and im feeling depressed now that it is over :( im never going to be able to enter a world like that again.....

Hey Michael, thanks for accepting friend request. Will there be an Eve and Adam 2? I loved it, and the bits of humour you included. :D
Thank you for welcoming me to your friends. First of all, just to say that I love your series GONE, and I think the best :D
Dear Michael,
I would like to thank you so much for being my friend here on GoodReads, which is a fantastic site where one is able to converse with so many likeminded people including authors and readers, writers and book bloggers. I value highly all of my friends on this site and very much look forward to discussing books with you.
Kind Regards

Okay, even though I only finished Fear a few weeks ago, my patience fore Light is already running thin. I don't think I can last...
Michael Grant, THANK YOU so much for bleeping out the F-word in your book (I'm assuming it was that particular word). It's become such a common expletive it's hard to escape it. But you have become a 21st century hero by NOT using it. Well, you're my hero, anyway.
So, just thank you, I think it's awesome you haven't used it (yet; I'm only fifteen chapters into FEAR).
So, just thank you, I think it's awesome you haven't used it (yet; I'm only fifteen chapters into FEAR).
Grant...*kneels, begging with hands clasped* Please, please, really pretty please, sell Fear faster so the book can be shipped to my library!!!! I NEED IT!!!
Hi Mr Grant Im reading Fear and it's amazing. It kind of has a different feel to it that the rest of the books...... more phycoligical instead of full on fights and action but still has the same amount ( or a bit more) of gore! Um I want to ask you a question and I don't want this to spoil anyone's reading......., so um what made you decide to make Edilio be you-know-what and how did you expect readers and Edilio fans (ME!) to react to it? I was really shocked! :0 Edilio is my favourite character by the way and so is Sanjit and I like it how you have him an actiony scene in this, it was cool! :) saw another side to Dekka as well and actually started to feel sad for Caine and he started to become more like able. Drake is amazing as always so nothing more needs to be said about him......... :) so yea please reply my question if you can. Thank you! :D
Just read the "about me" section of your profile.
"...My goal in writing GONE? To creep you out. To make you stay up all night reading, then roll into school tired the next day so that you totally blow the big test and end up dropping out of school."
Your apathetic attitude towards the somewhat sensitive subject of high school drop outs (especially sensitive with Americas brittle economy) has, strangely enough, restored my faith in the human race. Don't ask me why, because I'm not sure I quite understand myself. Nevertheless, I thank you.

Hey Michael, I cannot wait until FEAR is out, even though I know I will devour it within a day and then be heartbroken that the next one is so far away. Please know there are no other books that do that to me. Sometimes I'm not sure if I like you or if I want to strangle you for doing this to me. :-P

Hi Michael! I'm really in love with "Gone", and I saw on your page a new serie, "The Magnificent". Will it be released in france? Thank you and congratulation for your work. I don't understand very well why the rights have not been bought yet for the cinema... I already see the movie in my head! In France the releases are very spaced out, it's hard to wait. bisou! ;-) xxxx
Hello Mr Grant I love your Gone series and Plague is probably my favorite. It's seriously creepy! I love it(!) Is there any new info about Gone being made onto a movie or a TV series because that will be so awesome. It'll be like right up there with HP, probably better! Once Again, I love the Gone series and they are probably my favorite books. Please can you let us know if there is any more news about a movie being made or anything because I would love that. Thank you. Bye! :)
Thank you so much for accepting my request. Your writing is just so fantastic and inspiring, I can't find the words to truly describe how I feel about your writing. Gone is a brilliant book and I can't wait to finish it and continue the series. :)
