Dick Van Dyke has voiced his support for President Joe Biden, dismissing ageist criticisms against the 80-year-old leader. Speaking on The Hollywood Reporter’s 'Awards Chatter' podcast, the 98-year-old actor declared, “I’m going to support Biden.” When asked about the criticism of Biden for his age, Van Dyke responded, “I’ve got all my marbles, and I’m old enough to be his father.” Van Dyke, who backed Bernie Sanders four years ago, downplayed concerns about Biden’s age. However, he did express some reservations about Biden’s debate performance, citing the president’s “difficulty debating”. Reflecting on his encounters with both Biden and Donald Trump, Van Dyke recalled meeting Trump in Malibu, describing him as “disturbed.” In contrast, his meeting with Biden left a positive impression, saying, “I liked him right away.”
