FAIRFIELD --Â One person is dead following a crash in Fairfield Saturday night.
The Fairfield Police Department says they were dispatched to a report of a hit-and-run crash on Western Avenue at around 10:17 p.m. Saturday.
While investigating the crash, another crash was reported on the Center Road -- roughly two miles from the hit-and-run.
Police say the vehicle had rolled over and the driver was ejected.
Officers identified the vehicle involved in that crash as the suspected vehicle from the reported hit-and-run.
Immediate life-saving measures were taken, but the operator, 38-year-old Ryan Sargent of Sterling, Massachusetts, was pronounced deceased.
No other injuries were reported due to the rollover, and the operator of the other vehicle from the hit-and-run was not injured.
Police say it is believed that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
