Trooping the Colour: Smiling Kate joins Royals in parade
The Royal Family were out in force to celebrate Trooping the Colour on Saturday, June 15, to mark King Charles’s official birthday.
The annual celebration in central London is a key event in the royal calendar and is a grand display of pomp, pageantry and history with around 1,600 parading soldiers, 400 musicians and more than 200 horses taking part.
In a break from tradition, King Charles travelled in a carriage, alongside Queen Camilla, rather than on horseback, on the advice of his doctors.
The event also marked Princess Kate’s first appearance this year, after stepping back from her public royal duties while she undergoes chemotherapy for an undisclosed form of cancer.
The Princess of Wales was welcomed by crowds as she travelled down the Mall with her three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

While the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence also travelled together in a separate carriage.
