Prince Harry humiliated as his memoir Spare among lowest-rated celebrity books
Since its January 2023 release Spare has been a commercial success, but has been received less well by critics.
Robert Lacey questions Prince Harry's motives behind 'Spare'
Prince Harry's autobiography Spare has been named one of of the poorest-rated celebrity books, according to research conducted by QR experts QR Code Generator.
The book contained many damaging allegations against senior members of the Royal Family, however it seems the Firm may have had the last laugh judging by the data.
The experts analysed ratings on Goodreads and Amazon to see which celebrity book came out on top over the past three years, with Sir Paul McCartney's The Lyrics: 1956 to Present coming in first place with an impressive overall rating of 4.75 out of 5.
Books by BTS and Cicely Tyson came in second and third place respectively, with other famous titles by Michelle Obama and Billy Connolly rounding out the top ten.
But Spare dropped way down the top 50, with the Duke of Sussex being named the fourth-lowest rated celebrity author of the last three years, with his book receiving 3.99 out of 5.

A spokesperson for QR Code Generator said: "The reason people love reading books about celebrity authors, either as fans or just out of curiosity, is because they offer a glimpse into their unique journeys, providing a sense of intimacy and connection for their readers.
"Ratings are paramount in the context of book selling as they serve as a key metric for readers to assess the quality and appeal of a book. Positive ratings instill confidence in potential readers, contributing to increased discoverability and visibility in online marketplaces and bookstores.
"Positive or negative word of mouth, often fueled by ratings, becomes a powerful driver of sales as readers may recommend books to others. For readers, ratings provide a quick and accessible way to make informed decisions about which books to purchase."

Spare admittedly sold well, with The Bookseller naming it the best-selling book of 2023 as it shifted an impressive 700,000 copies in 12 months.
But it certainly did no favours for Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship with the royals, as the Duke targeted certain senior royals such as his stepmother Queen Camilla and older brother Prince William.
Harry labelled Camilla as a "villain" who sold stories to the press in exchange for favourable coverage, and claimed William physically attacked him during an argument at Nottingham Cottage in 2019.
Royal commentators have slammed Harry for his continued assault on his estranged family, with one PR expert claiming it has not gone down well in Hollywood.
Mark Borkowski, a publicist and media strategist, told The Telegraph: "They were overhyped. Hollywood is fickle. When you’re making money, everyone loves you. If you’re not making money, if there’s negativity around you, you turn quite toxic.
“What they did was generate hype and made a lot of promises that haven’t been delivered. The one thing Hollywood and America don’t like is too much negativity. Attacking the Royal Family hasn’t gone down well, so they’ve got to come up with a new strategy."
