We will review Commodity Jurisdiction, Classification and Licensing, Trade Embargoes, Denied Party Screening, Fines and Penalties, creating an effective Export Compliance Program, and Documentation and Record Keeping.
Duty minimization strategies such as TIBs, MPF Management, Duty Drawback, and FTZs save real money during the import process, as do Free Trade Agreements which, despite having been around in one form or another for about 40 years, remain one of the most complex, misunderstood, and misapplied customs strategies used by importers today. We will review the different ways importers may lessen the impact of duties on their cost of doing business.
