News: 2 days agoCoach Mike Brown said Tuesday that Ellis will enter training camp as the Kings' starting two-guard, though the team will explore its options when Kevin Huerter (shoulder) returns from injury, Frankie Cartoscelli of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports.

Spin: Ellis saw an uptick in minutes and production during his second year with the club, during which he averaged 5.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.9 steals across 17.2 minutes per game in 57 appearances (23 starts). The 24-year-old missed significant time due to an ankle injury and carved out an inconsistent role in his return. However, as the season progressed the guard became a mainstay in the starting five. Malik Monk seems to be content with a role as the Kings' sixth man, meaning Ellis will have an opportunity to prove he is worth the starting role -- at least until Huerter returns.
