Dear Intern Applicant, 

Thank you for your interest in the doctoral internship at the Texas Tech University Student Counseling Center. We are committed to the development of emerging professionals in psychology and are dedicated to making the intern training year a valuable and unforgettable experience for our interns. We really enjoy and value training, and all members of the professional staff are a part of intern training. In addition to training in individual and group therapy, personality or ADHD assessment, provision of supervision, crisis intervention, and triage we also offer several training rotations such as EMDR/trauma, eating disorders, substance use, religion and spirituality, and expressive arts interventions.  Please take some time to view the pictures of our center as we are fortunate to have exceptional facilities. Some may have questions about our west Texas location. Lubbock has a lot to offer such as a unique variety of restaurants, great live music, high quality performances, a low cost of living, and easy commutes. The campus is beautiful and hosts many different events such as plays, concerts, cultural events, and sports. There are also many exciting day trip locations including two nearby canyons that both offer hiking and horseback riding.
