If you can’t move your email to a secure and reliable cloud service right now, there are still some things you can do to minimize your exposure and limit your Microsoft Exchange vulnerabilities, including:
Removing the Exchange admin panels from the public internet.
Using a Firewall Access Control List (ACL), Virtual Private Network (VPN), or Proxy and Protective DNS.
Limit the functionality of Exchange Web Services and remote access.
