Located in the centre of Kyoto, 雅 is a recently renovated accommodation, which provides soundproof rooms. The air-conditioned accommodation is less than 1 km from Gion Shijo Station. great location! About 5 minutes walk to tsujiki market, train station and bus stops. Walking distance from several famous shrines and temples, and a lot of local eateries within walking distance as well. Great beer just down the road too. Host is extremely helpful, friendly, and responsive even late at night. Was extremely lucky to get a room here during peak season considering they have a total of only four rooms. Rooms here are also more spacious than many hotels I've stayed at in kyoto and Japan in general. Will definitely come back!

Set in Kyoto, less than 1 km from Gion Shijo Station and a 13-minute walk from Kiyomizu-dera Temple, 東山の宿 藤屋 offers air conditioning. The hosts were very nice and kind. They gave us useful tips what to visit in Kyoto. The room was clean and comfortable - we really enjoyed sleeping on the futons. The location was perfect, most of the sights were in walking distance, which meant we could enjoyed them in the late evenings without the crowds.

In the Higashiyama Ward district of Kyoto, close to Shoren-in Temple, Azukiya features a garden and a washing machine. A hot tub and a bicycle rental service are available for guests. Nice atmosphere, clean, helpful host with good English.

六根ゲストハウス Rokkon guest house features accommodation located less than 1 km from the centre of Kyoto and offers a garden and a terrace. Very clean beautiful room. Host was lovely and made delicious breakfasts. About 8min walk to nearest subway station, walking distance to Nijo castle.

Located in Kyoto and within 500 metres of Sanjusangen-do Temple, Kyo-Anthu Inn features a garden, soundproof rooms, and free WiFi. Kyo-Anthu Inn was a joyous place where you feel as though you are part of a loving home in your stay. Emiko-San was very generous, helpful and exhibited fantastic hospitality towards myself. I could not recommend this place enough and if anyone were to visit Kyoto, Kyo-Anthu Inn elevates the experience of this magical city.

Ideally located in the centre of Kyoto, Kokonoe Machiya offers air-conditioned rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a shared lounge. A perfect place for a Kyoto visit if you don't want to be around the tourist masses. The place is newly renovated and just thought out well, longest sleeps I had in Amy of my accommodations so far. The host (Tony) is a really nice guy with a lot of knowledge about the area and loves to talk and give recommendations.

Family Inn Kei 慶 features accommodation within 3.2 km of the centre of Kyoto, with free WiFi, and a kitchenette with an oven, a microwave and a toaster. The service was excellent. The owner was incredibly kind! We wanted to send some luggage to our next accommodation and and helped us by driving to office of the company which sends luggage, which was 20 minutes away by car, so she drove 40 minutes just for us!!! Also, the beds were nice, there was a small balcony and a little stove, as well as a washing machine.

My 13 year old daughter and I stayed in a double room for 3 nights while we explored Kyoto. We both felt at home immediately. The common space was welcoming and enjoyable to hang out in, our beds were comfortable, and the shared bathroom and shower were clean and comfortable. I’m not sure if it’s always this way, but the other guests were quiet and polite and respectful. Wish we could have stayed here longer!
