My room, #26, had a foul smell of old mops and mildew that greeted you as soon as you opened the door, it seemed to come from below the shower. I was very tired and it was late, so I closed the bathroom door and went to bed instead of insisting on a room change. There was a hole in the bathroom wall covered in tape.
There is a 5-digit keycode system instead of keycards, so you are stuck if you leave your room without your phone. They only send you the code on WhatsApp, so if you arrive without international data service or have not yet purchased your SIM for the EU, you are really stuck. The manager is surly and brusque when you call for help with the code, and even if you speak Romanian (as I do), he speaks fast and with irritation even when you ask him to slow down.
I asked for a kettle in the room but it was not provided. Instead, they expect you to descend three flights of very tall stairs to the basement, where there is a generous spread of coffee and tea 24/7, however, carrying that tiny paper cup of boiling tea back to your room is awkward.
The breakfast system is weird, you won't get fed unless you fill out a request sheet and once again go downstairs to drop it on the desk -- they can't even be bothered to collect from your doorstep it at midnight or early morning like most hotels. The breakfast was ready at the time requested but I prefer an attended buffet as is standard in normally warmhearted, welcoming Romania.
The place feels deserted.
It doesn't feel safe to have not one live human being visible, and for an irritated man to bark at you if you call -- so you can't even ask routine questions.
The mattress had some kind of plastic cover that resulted in my waking up covered in sweat at the middle of the night. The room was noisy, being right on the street with a small skylight the only window. And it smelled absolutely awful, intolerable.
The location is pretty good but not amazing, and superficially the hotel is attractive.

The city has beautiful architecture, with many old buildings. The people seem more cultured and calm compared to Bucharest. At first glance, they appear very kind and friendly. The weather, however, was cold and freezing.
My favorite place was old town and I ate at Iulius Mall.

There is always something to discover in Cluj.
There is always something to discover in Cluj. After all, it is booming with universities, lot’s of students and youth, so the city feels alive and active year round.
In the same time it is quite compact, has cozy and aesthetic downtown, great location for short daily getaways in the vicinity, like a hiking trip, visit of a castle, etc.
You can easily find public transportation in Google maps, and pay by card in nearly all, or take alternative 2 wheel transport.
Loved to try different eating places along the busier streets in the old city.
Botanical garden is worth a visit.

A very interesting city.
A very interesting city. Lots going on, lots to see and a thriving cafe snd restaurant culture. I really liked exploring the streets and the hidden courtyards. It is very walkable, but there is also a fine public transport network and plenty of very reasonably- priced taxis. The airport is only about 15-20 mins by taxi from the city centre.

Lots of places to eat. Numerous coffee/cafe shops. Lovely big park area with boating pool and seats to seat and take in the day. Good shopping. Nice city. Friendly, with lots of Romanians speaking English.
Downside - all cities have them, the homeless. In the Rex Matia Corvin square, a group of 4 males, 1 female, 5yr old. The female urinated in between the bushes, the 5yr old, the defecated, in the hedges just by me, taking a serviette from a women sitting on a bench next to me!!

Cluj-Napoca is very beautiful in the city center, which is all we visited. The nearby architecture is stunning. There were lots of people walking around the center day and night and plenty of restaurants and cafes. The city makes a welcoming addition with beautiful flowers planted all along the plaza. The weather was warm and perfect in early September.
The Camino Home was a lovely and welcoming place to stay and the manager Hunor went above and beyond in helping with some special needs. There were stairs to an upper bedroom so maybe not ideal for older guests but it was ok for me. The place has a young and hip vibe. The coffee in room was very good and they also have a cafe downstairs. Very convenient location.

We're Christian. Need we say more?
Beautiful churches, monuments and restaurants at nearly every junction and all accessible by foot.
Start at the Cathedral, Biserica Sfântul Mihail (plaza area with outdoor dining etc.) If you're into good beer, hearty food and pastries, at affordable prices, this is where its at.
Everything else is within easy reach from there.
*Check out the Firefighter Tower, an elevated viewing platform of the City, (500 metres away).
Jewellery is very reasonably priced. In fact, EVERYTHING is.
We travelled on the No.5 bus across the street from the Sky Hotel and directly outside the airport. A 15-minute journey will take you right into to the heart of the City Center (circa. €1 for 2 people). Automatic card reader on board.
English is not generally spoken, but any professional shop assistant will speak enough to put you in the right direction.
Enjoy.

Such a unique place in Cluj City Center! The flat is located in the historical part of Cluj Napoca and has a very quirky, unique style. It is tastefully decorated and has all the facilities you might need for your stay, be it long or short. Check-in procedures thoroughly explained. I would definitely stay again in the future!

Swimming pool ! balcony with city views. Great breakfast extensive buffet and live cooking. Friendly staff . The best hotel in Cluj Napoca!
The location of the apartment is perfect. In the centre of Cluj Napoca , near Piața Unirii, ideal for exploring the old city and the life of Cluj. We loved the building and the fact that it is the place where the great mathematician Janos Bolyai was born.
The apartment is within easy reach of the centre of Cluj Napoca on foot and is only 15 minutes walk from the railway station. Everything was clean and comfortable. It's in a quiet street so there was little noise from outdoors.
