Chris Davies believes his Birmingham side are back on track for a League One title push after twice slipping up in November.

Victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Stockport County 2-0 on Wednesday made it two successive wins since dropping points against Shrewsbury and Northampton last month.

And the Blues boss believes his side, pre-season favourites to bounce back to the second tier as League One champions, could now get on a roll towards Christmas.

"It was a big three points for us and I said to the players we had to show all three sides of our game - fight and determination, it was another clean sheet, and another couple of goals," said Davies.

"We are starting to build momentum again and I was really pleased."

Davies will be without forward Keshi Anderson after the right winger picked up a yellow card and a suspension against Stockport which rules him out of Saturday's trip to Barnsley.

"Keshi will always give his all and work hard and absolutely he will be a big miss," said the Blues manager.

"He is an experienced player and that is why we are going to miss him. But that is why we have a big squad and it gives someone else an opportunity."

Birmingham go into the weekend in third, three points behind Wycombe with a game in hand, and a point behind second-placed Wrexham with two games in hand on the Welsh side.
