UK’s tallest living Christmas tree lit up

The UK’s tallest living Christmas tree has been illuminated by TV architect George Clarke.

Planted 160 years ago, the 42m (138ft) tree at Cragside in Northumberland is as tall as two Angels of the North.

Staff at the National Trust site said it took “years of planning” to light it.
