This is not your average faux friends to BFFs read. Its way more. Gunderson deftly describes the overwhelming energy required to handle four preschoolers while attempting some sort of normalcy as an adult. She also beautifully describes the heavy burden of carrying a potentially devastating secret that could ruin families and careers.
This is a page turner, one difficult to put down. Many twists and turns, disappointing road blocks that most of us face in some way when people show their ignorance and prejudice about dilemmas others face.
It's a well written account of two women facing real life with the help and support of the other. The growth of trust, the foundation of true friendship, between these two women can restore the readers' faith in humanity - maybe spur some to actually make the effort to build strong friendships that lead to building a stronger community.
