Product Description

Mix dough, fold cake batter, whisk vinaigrette and do much more with these OXO good grips Stainless steel mixing bowls. The 1. 5-Quart, 3-quart and 5-quart bowls have non-slip bottoms for added stability while mixing, even on a tilt. The bowls feature a brushed stainless steel interior that retains temperature for chilling and marinating, plus a white plastic exterior to shield hands from extreme heat. The curved, corner-free interior allows for easy mixing and cleaning. The 1. 5-Quart size is great for whisking eggs or salad dressings; The 3-quart size has higher walls for use with electric mixers; and the 5-quart size is ideal for doubling recipes, mixing larger quantities, tossing salads and serving popcorn. The mixing Bowls nest for compact storage and are dishwasher safe.

    I saw these awesome OXO mixing bowls but was a bit hesitant to purchase because of the price point. However, I finally took the plunge and am very happy with this set.

    I love the colors (I purchased the blue/gray set). I love the overall feel. This feels so much better than my stainless steel bowls which were functional but basic. This feels like a first class item in the hands with a nice lip. The bowls have a silicon bottom so these are quite sturdy during use, which is great. These clean up easily, which also means that pouring stuff like batter works really well.

    I wouldn't put these in the dishwasher to clean, and I don't think that would ever be necessary frankly, so that should eliminate any concerns I have seen over rusting. I think if you take reasonable care of these bowls there will be no problems at all.

    Overall?: Just get these. Yes, expensive. Yes, cheaper alternatives out there. But these are so nice, a measure to use, it makes cooking really fun to use these. Excellent product.

    Update: The Oxo brand name print on the bowls have worn off after a couple months of use. Besides this the bowls have been very nice.

    I think these are the perfect mixing bowl set. I bought these in 2011 and will be buying again for another kitchen. I was browsing tonight looking at a seemingly limitless stainless mixing bowl selection but not seeing what I wanted. I added "good for whisking" to my search, and up popped the OXO bowls, telling me I had purchased them in 2011. I'd had them long enough not to remember to look for them in my past orders. They are not at hand so I had forgotten they were OXO. Well, OF COURSE they are OXO, they are perfect.

    They still look great and are perfect in so many ways.

    They are lightweight but non-slip with the lightly weighted black bottoms.
    They are slightly insulated so heat doesn't move between hands and bowl and ingredients.
    They nest perfectly and are not hard to line up. They just drop in and are readily extracted from one another.
    They don't clank around, but live in peace with counters, sinks and each other.
    They have rounded bottom best for wire whisks. Flat bottomed mixing bowls are a joke.
    The sides are steep enough to keep ingredients in and aid in mixing. No need to chase ingredients around the bowl.
    They can fold ingredients nicely, as required.
    They provide a good grip and are easy to hold.
    They work in the fridge and the dishwasher.
    OK, they can't go in the microwave.
    They are super easy to scrape out and rinse out.
    They hand wash and dry very quickly to take on the next task.
    They don't spot or turn color.
    I've never wished there were more in the set, 3 does it all.

    Look, a pretty new color has come along, but white's quite nice.

    I have both the white and blue/gray bowls and use them almost daily for mixing all sorts of ingredients for all sorts of recipes, but especially for sourdough bread. The smaller bowls are perfect for preferments, the medium for holding flours before combining in the large bowls to make the dough and, for some high hydration doughs, bowl folds, holding the dough between stretch and folds, etc.
    Easy to clean up and I can keep all six bowls neatly nested in relatively small space.
    My go to bowls.

    The price almost held me back, but the color convinced me. A year later, I'm still impressed.

    They are heavy in weight and very durable. The non-slide grip at the bottom really does come in handy. These bowls stay exactly where you place them. The white is bright and darling and the bowls nestle inside of one another perfectly.

    The 4 star rating is due to the fact that there are times I wish the set came with one bigger bowl. The 3 sizes are a great start, but for bigger items, I wish there was one size up.

    The bowls do last. The steel inside is rust free and the there isn't a single chip in the the white exterior. They feel high-end. These bowls can take a beating.

    If you're a heavy mixer, these are for you! If not, you may not need to spend $44 on this set. I don't regret the purchase at this price point because I do use them often and they've held up well. They are extremely well made and built to last!
