When I turned 16, all I wanted was to throw a party at the sushi restaurant made famous by The Hills (RIP, Geisha House). Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, on the other hand, is going a more selfless route. Ahead of her 16th birthday on February 19, she has launched the Florence by Mills 16 Wishes Eye Shadow Palette as a present not only to herself but also to her fans.
"I feel like being 16 embodies being bold, fun, and a colorful young woman," the actor tells Allure, explaining that she's been envisioning this since well before this milestone birthday. "I have been waiting for nearly a year now to launch this palette."

It features 16 colors in fun shades, including an electric blue and an iridescent lilac, in glitter and matte finishes. Each swatch goes on super smooth with a high color payoff for a standout eye look, a trend Brown recently started to love and says influenced the creation of this palette.
"I wore a pink eye shadow and a high-cheekbone look to the premiere of Godzilla: King of the Monsters in Beijing. That was very different for me. I felt like I had stepped into an area of beauty that I hadn't before," she says. "I mimicked this look in my 16th Birthday Wishes photo shoot."
Brown wanted the shadows to be bright (her personal favorite is Love because its neon-pink hue just screams "birthday") and named each one after a wish she has for the world. With names like Gratitude and Happiness, it's hard not to feel inspired.
She also kept in mind how irksome oversize palettes can be when you try to take them anywhere. The 16 Wishes palette breaks apart into three smaller palettes so you can take a specific group of colors with you when you're on the go. "I travel a lot, and sometimes traveling with large palettes can be annoying," she says. "Having a palette that breaks apart is so much easier."
