Christie Brinkley Seemingly Went Back to Blonde Days After Revealing Her Natural Gray Roots

Legendary supermodel Christie Brinkley is known for her sunny golden-blonde hair; it's practically her trademark color. However, the model appears to be thinking about going gray, as evidenced by a recent Instagram post... or is she?

On March 5, Brinkley shared a carousel of photos of herself enjoying a cloudy Sunday on the beach. In the photos, you can clearly see her silver roots peeking through that honey blonde, which she acknowledged in the caption, saying that she wasn't sure about what to do with her hair — keep it blonde or transition to gray?

"Grey sky! Gray hair! The second you see gray hair it raises the question, just like when you cut bangs ..to keep or not to keep?" Brinkley wrote. "Thank goodness both are just a personal preference or a fun change of pace. My son thinks it looks cool, but I think I may want to wait till it’s more like the silver whitecaps than the grey wave itself!" Brinkley, of course, looks beautiful either way; her smile is so contagious and she'd be as stunning silver as she is blonde.

The silver roots didn't seem to stick around too long, though. Just a few days later, Brinkley posted a springy selfie posing with some snowdrops and the roots have been replaced with a touched-up blonde. You can also see the refreshed hue in an International Women's Day video she made and shared on her Instagram. As she stated in her caption, Brinkley sees her hair color as something to have fun with, not to stress over.

Gray hair is no longer a taboo topic for celebrities. Many stars have spoken openly about seeing more grays in the mirror and embracing it, including Sarah Jessica Parker, who told Allure that her gray hair doesn't make her brave. “I just don't understand why I'm supposed to be spending that much time thinking about it,” she shared. “It's not that I'm purposefully dismissive or delusional. But I don't really ponder it. There's been far more peripheral chatter about my time spent on earth than I've spent thinking about it myself.” Jane Fonda, too, transitioned from blonde to a shimmering silver in 2020, a process that took seven hours. 

Gray or no gray, Brinkley is doing beauty her way.
