The newest member of the Aussie Sharks men’s water polo team is Goran Tomasevic, a Macquarie Group investment banker who on Tuesday helped his adopted home defeat the country of his birth.

The 31-year-old Tomasevic, who was born in Split on Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast, came to Australia six years ago from the US – where he had been studying and started his career – to work for Macquarie, and only got his Australian citizenship earlier this year.
