Compensation and Benefits: WSAC offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package. The value of state benefits adds approximately 30 percent to employees’ base salaries. WSAC staff also receive the benefits listed below.
Insurance: Employees and their families are covered by medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as basic life and long-term disability insurance plans. Additional coverage is available at special group rates. Visit the Health Care Authority to learn more.
Retirement/Deferred Compensation: Employees can choose either a defined benefit plan (PERS 2) or a combined defined benefit/defined contribution plan (PERS 3). In addition, the state offers a Deferred Compensation program for additional tax-deferred retirement investment savings. Visit the Department of Retirement Systems to learn more.
Vacation and Leave: Leave benefits include 12-22 days of vacation per year; 12 days of paid sick leave per year; 10 paid holidays; newborn, adoptive, and emergency childcare leave; paid leave for jury duty or other civil duties; and leave for military service.
Growth Opportunities: State employment offers personal and professional growth opportunities. Employees can attend workshops and trainings to build skills and develop management capacity. WSAC also offers tuition assistance.
