Uniondale is a hamlet and census-designated place in central Nassau County, New York, on Long Island, in the town of Hempstead. The population was 32,473 at the time of the 2020 census. Uniondale is home to Hofstra University's north campus and a portion of its southern campus, as well as the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

School enrollment was reduced in 2007 with the opening of a new high school on Albuquerque’s west side. Volcano Vista High School opened in the fall of 2007. The following year, in 2008, CHS underwent a massive remodel and expansion of the school. The current enrollment stands at 1,762.
