Torpedo is the eleventh studio album by Welsh rock band Feeder, released on 18 March 2022 through Big Teeth Music.
In August 2019, Feeder released their tenth studio album, Tallulah . The album was a commercial success - debuting at number 4 on the UK Official Charts Company albums chart, it was the bands first album in almost fifteen years to crack to the top five of the chart. [6] [7] Feeling motivated, band members Grant Nicholas and Taka Hirose immediately began work on a follow-up album. [8] The two wrote and recorded an album's worth of material across late 2019 and early 2020, with the album being largely completely outside of final audio mixing. [8] However, progress halted with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020. [8] Frustrated, Nicholas and Hirose turned to writing further material instead. [9] Early sessions written during the COVID lockdown were slow, with Nicholas suffering with a case of writer's block. [10] Eventually, his pent up frustration with both the state of the world, and his writer's block, lead to an outpouring of content, enough for two album's worth of material. [10] The material was separated into two batches; the material written second - during the COVID lockdown - was put together to make up the Torpedo album, while the earlier, pre-COVID material, was put together for a later 2023 release on a yet-to-be-titled twelfth album. [8]
Thematically, the album was influenced by the band's frustrations of the COVID-19 pandemic. This resulted in the album being described by publications as retaining their established melodic rock sound, but having a heavier and darker sound, [4] punctuated with more distorted and fuzzy guitar riffs. [11] Nicholas noted that the title track, "Torpedo", encapsulated the album well—darker verses of emotion and frustration leading into a chorus more centred around coming to a more positive conclusion from it. [9] The album opens up with the six-minute track "The Healing", which Nicholas states he wrote to resemble something out of a rock opera, was meant to be heard as a wake up call for people to come together and work towards a better future. [12] "Magpie" was described as an indie rock song about hope and optimism. [12]
The album's title and release date—Torpedo and 18 March 2022—was announced well in advance of release in August 2021. [13] A UK tour was also announced to begin shortly after the album's release. [14] The album's heavier sound has led the band to plan a heavier set list for the tour as well. [13] The album's title track was released at the time of the album's announcement as the first single. [9] [15] Songs "Wall of Silence", "Magpie", and "The Healing" were also released ahead of the album. [12]
Torpedo entered the U.K. album chart at No.5, making it the band's fifth top 5 album and tenth top 10. [16]

The original version of the album was deleted soon after and is relatively rare due to this reason.
Yesterday Went Too Soon is the second studio album by Welsh rock band Feeder. It was released on 30 August 1999 on The Echo Label.
Echo Park is the third studio album by Welsh rock band Feeder. It was their first album since 1999's Yesterday Went Too Soon. The album was recorded at Great Linford Manor in Milton Keynes during most of 2000 and was produced by Gil Norton.

It was released on Echo, Liberation Music and PIAS on 31 January 2005 in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, while being released on Pony Canyon in Japan on 10 February 2005. Despite mixed reviews, the album was a commercial success, in which it was a top five album in Feeder's native United Kingdom, and its lead single "Tumble and Fall" was a top five single. This made the album Feeder's most successful in terms of peak chart position, but did not experience the same chart longevity as presuccessor Comfort in Sound, which spent 36 weeks on the UK top 75 chart in comparison to the 15 weeks spent by Pushing the Senses.
"Seven Days in the Sun" is a song by Welsh rock band Feeder, released as the second single from their Echo Park album. It was released on 2 April 2001 and reached number 14 on the UK Singles Chart the same month. CD1 of the single includes "Just a Day", which was later released as a single.
"Come Back Around" is the first single released from Welsh rock band Feeder's fourth studio album, Comfort in Sound (2002). It was their first release after drummer Jon Lee's death earlier in the year and reached number 14 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming the band's 10th top-40 hit in the process. It also reached number 45 in Ireland. The promo video features four female drummers as a tribute to Jon Lee.
"Insomnia" is a song by Welsh rock band Feeder, released as the second single from their album Yesterday Went Too Soon. It reached number 22 on the UK Singles Chart and was at the time Feeder's fourth consecutive single to reach the top 40.

The discography of Feeder, a Welsh-Japanese rock band which formed in 1994, consists of eleven studio albums, twelve compilation albums, four extended plays (EP), and forty singles on The Echo Label, their own label Big Teeth Music, Cooking Vinyl and BMG as well as forty-nine music videos. Alongside charting twelve Top 75 albums domestically, they also have 25 Top 75 singles. In 2022 Feeder became one of the few artists in U.K. chart history, to achieve top 10 albums in at least four different decades, and also one of a very few since the establishment of the Artist Album Chart in 1989, to have at least ten top ten albums. 2001's Echo Park and 2002's Comfort in Sound are both of the UK's most successful albums to be released on an independent label, due to both individually spending over 100 weeks on the official Top 50 of the Independent Albums Chart.
Silent Cry is the sixth studio album by Welsh rock band Feeder. It was released by Echo, on 16 June 2008, on CD, deluxe CD, vinyl, and digital download. It was the follow-up to 2005's Pushing the Senses and in terms of all albums, the highly successful singles album in 2006. The first single, "We Are the People", preceded the album, being released on 9 June. It was their last album to feature Mark Richardson on Drums before departing in 2009.
Renegades were a British rock band which started out as a side-project from two members of the band Feeder, featuring guitarist Grant Nicholas and bassist Taka Hirose, before becoming a pseudonym name for Feeder themselves. Nicholas formed Renegades alongside Hirose with Karl Brazil from Ben's Brother, who completed the group and a four-track EP was then recorded. Soon later, Renegades became an alternative name for Feeder at various concerts where they would play an entire show pretending not to be Feeder, but a different band with the same members. If Feeder songs released before the Renegades album were to be played, the band would announce that they're covering Feeder songs. Grant Nicholas once introduced "Tangerine" as "A cover of a song from a band we know".
Generation Freakshow is the eighth studio album by Welsh rock band Feeder. It was released on 23 April 2012. It was due to be the second in a series of two albums released in 2010 by the band, following up previous album Renegades. However, the band decided to hold more recording sessions for the album, leading them to delay the album until 2012.
Idaho is the third single to be released from the album Generation Freakshow by the British rock band Feeder. It was released on vinyl the week commencing 27 August 2012, although the digital format was already released the day prior.
