The Styria Media Group AG, often referred to as just Styria, is an Austrian media company founded in 1869 and based in Graz. The company is one of the largest media companies in Austria, Croatia and Slovenia. Styria publishes a number of daily papers and weekly magazines, several news websites, and operates two radio stations and a television channel. They also incorporate seven book publishing companies. The group generated a market turnover of 411 million euros in 2022.
As of 2015, [update] the Styria Media Group and the Moser Holding Aktiengesellschaft each own 50% of Regionalmedien Austria. [1] This company publishes free (advertiser-funded) local newspapers throughout Austria. [2] The company's original markets are the Styria and Carinthia regions of Austria, where they publish their flagship daily Kleine Zeitung and a number of regional weeklies. On a national level, the company publishes Vienna-based daily Die Presse and the weekly magazine Die Furche .
In Croatia, Styria is the sole shareholder of the major daily newspaper Večernji list and the daily tabloid 24sata . In March 2008 they also acquired the business daily Poslovni dnevnik .

The Steiermärkische Bank und Sparkassen AG was founded in 1825 as Vereinssparkasse and is thus the oldest financial institution in Styria. Business operations began on 15 May 1825 at the first business premises at Landhaus, Schmiedgasse No. 9. The actual founder of the Steiermärkische Sparkasse was the Emperor's personal representative and Governor in Styria: Franz von Hartig. Since 1823 he had been the Imperial and Royal Count of Styria, Governor of Styria and thus head of the Imperial and Royal Styrian Gubernium, the country's highest political authority. In addition to his political responsibilities, he also was in a role inspired him to found a Sparkasse in Graz. Since 1823 he had been a member of the Association of the First Austrian Spar-Casse with direct insight into the beginnings of the Sparkassen system in Austria. As early as 1824 he had decided to found an institute of this kind in Styria as well.
