Ryan Sweeting (born July 14, 1987) [1] is an American former professional tennis player.
Sweeting was born in Nassau, Bahamas. He has been living in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and registered as an American to the ATP. [1]
In September 2013, Sweeting became engaged to actress Kaley Cuoco after three months of dating. [2] They married on December 31, 2013, in Santa Susana, California. [3] Cuoco announced in September 2015 that she was filing for divorce. [4] The divorce was finalized in May 2016. [5]
Sweeting represented The Bahamas in his junior years. He attended Guizar Tennis Academy and was coached by renowned Mexican tennis coach, Nicolas Guizar. In 2005, he won the US Open Boys' Singles title, beating Jérémy Chardy in the final.
As a junior, Sweeting compiled a singles win–loss record of 94–51 (89–46 in doubles), reaching as high as no. 2 in the junior world rankings in September 2005.
In 2006, he attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where he played for the Florida Gators men's tennis team in NCAA competition. He made his professional US Open debut in 2006, where he defeated Argentine Guillermo Coria in the first round (Coria retired while down 3–2) before losing to Belgian Olivier Rochus in five sets. Sweeting served as a practice partner for the U.S. Davis Cup team in the 2006 World Group semifinal against Russia in Moscow. [6]
Sweeting turned professional in 2007. Sweeting captured four ProCircuit doubles titles in 2007. He won the Rimouski Challenger in Canada in November 2008 for his first ProCircuit singles title. He finished 2008 ranked no. 216 in the ATP world rankings.
Sweeting captured the Dallas Challenger singles title in February 2009, without dropping a set. In April, at the US Men's Clay Court Championships in Houston, Texas, Sweeting and doubles partner Jesse Levine lost to Americans Bob and Mike Bryan, ranked no. 1 in the world, in the doubles final.
At the US Men's Clay Court Championships in Houston, Sweeting won his only ATP World Tour singles title by beating Kei Nishikori of Japan in the final in straight sets. [7]

Guillermo Sebastián Coria, nicknamed El Mago, is an Argentine retired professional tennis player. He reached a career-high ATP world No. 3 singles ranking in May 2004. Coria achieved his best results on clay, where he won eight of his nine ATP singles titles, and during his prime years in 2003 and 2004 was considered "the world's best clay-court player." He reached the final of the 2004 French Open, where he was defeated by Gastón Gaudio despite serving for the match twice and being up two sets to love. In later years, injuries and a lack of confidence affected his game, and he retired in 2009 at the age of 27. Between 2001 and 2002, he served a seven-month suspension for taking the banned substance nandrolone.
Nicolás Alejandro Massú Fried, nicknamed El Vampiro, is a Chilean former professional tennis player. A former world No. 9 in singles, he won the singles and doubles gold medals at the 2004 Athens Olympics. He is the only man to have won both gold medals at the same Games since the re-introduction of Olympic tennis in 1988, and they are Chile's only two Olympic gold medals. Massú also reached the final of the 2003 Madrid Masters and won six singles titles. He is presently the coach of 2020 US Open champion and former world No. 3 Dominic Thiem.
Kaley Christine Cuoco is an American actress and producer. He won three of the four Grand Slam tournaments in men's doubles, partnering with Daniel Nestor, as well as Wimbledon in mixed doubles. At various times between 2002 and 2005 he was ranked World No. 1 in doubles. He is a five-time Olympian.
Donald Oliver Young Jr. is an American professional tennis player. Young had a career-high ATP singles ranking of World No. 38 achieved on 27 February 2012 and doubles ranking of No. 43 achieved on 14 August 2017. Kei Nishikori is a Japanese professional tennis player. He is the second male Japanese player to have been ranked in the top 5 in singles, and the only one to do so in the Open Era. Nishikori first reached his career-high singles ranking of world No. 4 in March 2015. Nishikori has won 12 singles titles and was runner-up at the 2014 US Open, making him the first male player representing an Asian country to reach a Grand Slam singles final. He also became the first man from Asia to qualify for the ATP World Tour Finals and reached the semifinals in 2014 and 2016. In addition, Nishikori defeated Rafael Nadal to win the bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics, bringing Japan its first Olympic tennis medal in 96 years. Nishikori also holds the record for the highest win percentage in matches extending to 5 sets, with a record of 27-7 and a win percentage of 79.4%.
