Rinov Rivaldy (born 12 November 1999) is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Djarum club. [2] [3] He won the gold medal at the 2017 World Junior Championships, [4] and bronze medals at the 2019 and 2021 SEA Games in the mixed doubles with Pitha Haningtyas Mentari. [5] [6]

Career

In September-October 2021, Rivaldy alongside the Indonesian team competed at the 2021 Sudirman Cup in Vantaa, Finland. He won a match in the group stage against B. R. Sankeerth and Crystal Lai of Canada. Indonesia advanced to the knockout stage but lost at the quarterfinals against Malaysia. [7]

2023

In January, Rivaldy and Pitha Haningtyas Mentari started 2023 BWF World Tour by losing in the first round of Malaysia Open from 8th seed Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue of France. [8] In the next week, they also lost the first round of India Open from 4th seed Wang Yilyu and Huang Dongping of China. [9] They competed in the home tournament, Indonesia Masters, but lost in the second round from unseeded Chinese pair Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping. [10]

In February, Rivaldy join the Indonesia national badminton team to compete at the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships, but the teams lost in the quarter-finals from team Korea. [11]

In March, Rivaldy and Mentari competed in the All England Open but had to lose in the first round from 6th seed Malaysian pair Tan Kian Meng and Lai Pei Jing. [12] In the next tour, he competed in the Swiss Open, but had to retire in the quarter-finals from Chinese Taipei pair Ye Hong-wei and Lee Chia-hsin. [13]

In late April, Rivaldy and Mentari competed at the Asian Championships in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, but had to lose in the quarter-finals from 8th seed Malaysian pair Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai in three games. [14]

In May, Rivaldy alongside the Indonesian team competed at the 2023 Sudirman Cup in Suzhou, China. He won a match in the group stage, against Jones Ralfy Jansen and Linda Efler of Germany. Indonesia advanced to the knockout stage but lost at the quarterfinals against China, where he almost upsetting the world no. 1 Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong in the first match with scrapped doubles partner Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja. [15] In the following week, Rivaldy and Mentari competed in the second Asian Tour at the Malaysia Masters. They were lost in the quarter-finals from 3rd seed Korean pair Seo Seung-jae and Chae Yoo-jung. [16]

In June, Rivaldy and Mentari competed at the Singapore Open, but had to lose in the second round from 2nd seed and eventual finalist Japanese pair Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino. [17] In the next tour, they competed at the home tournament, Indonesia Open, but lost in the quarter-finals from 2nd seed and eventual finalist Japanese pair Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino for the second consecutive tour. [18] In the next tour, they lost at the second round of the Taipei Open from their fellow Indonesian junior player Jafar Hidayatullah and Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata. [19]

In late July, Rivaldy competed at the 2023 Japan Open, but lost in the first round against 6th seed Korean pair Seo Seung-jae and Chae Yoo-jung. [20]

In early August, Rivaldy competed at the Australian Open, but had to lose in the quarter-finals from Chinese pair Cheng Xing and Chen Fanghui in straight games. [21] In late August, he competed at the World Championships, but lost in the third round from 4th seed Thai pair Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai in straight games. [22] He made his debut at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, [23] but unable to win any medals both in the mixed doubles and team events. [24] [25]

BWF World Tour (3 titles, 5 runners-up)

The BWF World Tour, which was announced on 19 March 2017 and implemented in 2018, [28] is a series of elite badminton tournaments sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). The BWF World Tour is divided into levels of World Tour Finals, Super 1000, Super 750, Super 500, Super 300, and the BWF Tour Super 100. [29]

Muhammad Rian Ardianto is an Indonesian badminton player. Born in Bantul, Yogyakarta SR, Ardianto plays for the Jaya Raya Jakarta club at national events. He won the men's doubles silver medal at the 2018 Asian Games, the bronze medals at the 2017 SEA Games, and at the 2019 and 2022 World Championships. Ardianto was part of Indonesia winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup. He reached a career high of world number 1 in the men's doubles with Fajar Alfian on 27 December 2022.

Apriyani Rahayu is an Indonesian badminton player specializing in doubles. She and Greysia Polii won the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics champions in the women's doubles. She won gold at the 2019 SEA Games, and two bronze medals at the World Championships in 2018 and 2019. Rahayu also won bronze medals at the 2018 Asian Games in the women's team and doubles with her former partner Polii.

Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with the Djarum club. She won the gold medal in the mixed doubles at the 2017 Asian Junior Championships, and in the women's doubles at the 2021 SEA Games. She also won the silver medal in the 2023 World Championships with Apriyani Rahayu.

Pitha Haningtyas Mentari is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Jaya Raya Jakarta badminton club. She won the gold medal at the 2017 World Junior Championships, and bronze medals at the 2019 and 2021 SEA Games in the mixed doubles with Rinov Rivaldy. Mentari was also a member of the Indonesian women's team that won the silver medal in 2019 and 2021 SEA Games.

Leo Rolly Carnando is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with PB Djarum club. He was a World Junior Champions in the mixed doubles in 2018 and in the boys' doubles in 2019, also won double gold at the 2019 Asian Junior Championships in the boys' and mixed doubles events. Carnando was part of Indonesia winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup.

Daniel Marthin is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Djarum club since 2015. He was a champion at the 2019 Asian and World Junior Championships in the boys' doubles event. Marthin was part of Indonesia winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup.

Sugiarto was the gold medalist at the 2018 Asian Junior Championships partnered with Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma, and won her first senior international title in 2019 Indonesia Masters, a Super 100 tournament with Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.

Yeremia Erich Yotje Yacob Rambitan is an Indonesian badminton player, who also plays for Exist Jakarta in the national event. He won the gold medals at the 2022 Asian Championships and 2023 SEA Games. In his young age, Rambitan won the mixed doubles Junior National Championships title in 2016, and the boys' doubles bronze medal at the World Junior Championships in 2017.

Pramudya Kusumawardana Riyanto is an Indonesian-Australian badminton player. He was a men's doubles gold medalists at the 2022 Asian Championships and 2023 SEA Games.
