Pemanggil Island (Malay : Pulau Pemanggil, Chinese: 柏芒吉岛) is an island in Mersing District, Johor, Malaysia. [1] [2]
The island sits 45 km east of Mersing mainland.
Pemanggil Island is known for deep-sea fishing and good hunting grounds for marlins and mackerels. It has also hill at the outcrop of the island. On the north-eastern coast of the island is Teluk Lancang, an isolated bay. At the center of the island lies a huge boulder known locally as Batu Buau which locals regard as sacred.
The island is accessible by boat from Mersing Town.
Tioman Island is 32 kilometres off the east coast of Rompin District, Pahang, Malaysia. It is 39 kilometres long and 12 kilometres wide and has seven villages, the largest and most populous being Kampung Tekek on the central western coast. The densely forested island is sparsely inhabited, and is surrounded by numerous coral reefs, making it a popular scuba diving, snorkelling, and surfing spot. There are many resorts and chalets for tourists around the island, which has duty-free status.
