Patrick Bailey (born January 18, 1956) is an American former college baseball coach and former outfielder. He played college baseball at North Idaho College, a community college, from 1975 to 1976, before transferring to Idaho where he played from 1977 to 1978. He then served as the head coach of the NCAA Division III George Fox Bruins (1996–2007) and the interim coach of the Oregon State Beavers (2019). In 2020 it was announced that Bailey would not be returning to the Beavers' coaching staff in 2021.

Coaching career

On September 6, 2018, Pat Casey announced his retirement from Oregon State, and Bailey was named the interim head coach. [1] Bailey was replaced by Mitch Canham after going 36–20–1 in his interim season, but Bailey remained with the team as an assistant coach for the 2020 season. On July 31, 2020, it was announced that Bailey would not be returning to the Beavers' coaching staff in 2021. [2]

Patrick Michael Casey is an American college baseball coach who was the head coach for the Oregon State Beavers baseball team. He is best known for winning the 2006 College World Series for the Beavers' first-ever baseball National Championship. The following year, he led the Beavers to a repeat championship in the 2007 College World Series, the first unranked team in history to accomplish this feat. He retired from Oregon State after winning his third championship in the 2018 College World Series.

The Beavers finished the season with a 41–19 overall record, and came in third in the Pacific-10 Conference Championship with 17 wins and 10 losses.

The 2012 Oregon State Beavers baseball team represented Oregon State University in the 2012 NCAA Division I baseball season. The team participated in the Pac-12 Conference. They were coached by Pat Casey and assistant coaches Marty Lees, Pat Bailey, and Nate Yeskie. They played home games in Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. The Beavers finished the season with a 40–20 overall record, and came in fourth in the Pac-12 Conference Championship with 18 wins and 12 losses.

The 2018 NCAA Division I Baseball season, play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began in February 2018. The season progressed through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and concluded with the 2018 NCAA Division I baseball tournament and 2018 College World Series. The College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA tournament and held annually in Omaha, Nebraska, at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, ended on June 28, 2018.

The 2019 Oregon State Beavers baseball team began the season as the defending national champion and represented Oregon State University in the 2019 NCAA Division I baseball season. Despite a successful season that saw them ranked as high as No. 1 and selected to host the first round of the 2019 NCAA Division I baseball tournament, the Beavers were eliminated from the first round of the Corvallis Regional.

The 2020 Oregon State Beavers baseball team represented Oregon State University in the 2020 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Beavers played their home games at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field and were members of the Pac-12 Conference. The team was coached by Mitch Canham in his 1st season at Oregon State after long-time head coach Pat Casey chose not to exercise an option to return following a year sabbatical. Canham is a former catcher for Oregon State and was a member of the 2006 and 2007 national championship teams. The season was indefinitely suspended after 14 games after the NCAA abruptly canceled all winter and spring season tournaments, including the College World Series, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. On March 14, 2020, the season officially came to an end after the Pac-12 athletic conference canceled the remainder of all scheduled spring sports competitions through the end of the academic year.

The 2023 Oregon State Beavers baseball team represented Oregon State University in the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Beavers played their home games at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field as members of the Pac-12 Conference. The team was led by Pat Casey Head Baseball Coach Mitch Canham in his fourth season at Oregon State.
