The single was a moderate hit in France,where it charted on the SNEP charts and reached a peak position of number 46.
The music video for "Odd Look" premiered on 6 August 2013 on Kavinsky's Vevo account on YouTube.
A snippet of the song was used in a 2012 French commercial for BMW i,which was shown in cinemas. [2]

An official remix of the song featuring Canadian singer the Weeknd from the Kavinsky's Odd Look EP (2013) was released as a single on 24 July 2013. The Weeknd later included the remix on the deluxe edition of his debut studio album, Kiss Land (2013).
The remixed single was a moderate hit in Belgium, where it charted on the Ultratop 50 Singles charts of both Flanders and Wallonia. Where it peaked at number 18 and 34 respectively. The song was also a minor success in the United States where it peaked at number 46 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

Sébastien Akchoté-Bozović, known mononymously as Sebastian, is a French musician, composer, producer, mixer, engineer, vocalist and DJ affiliated with Ed Banger Records. He has worked as a solo electronic musician and as a remixer for bands and singers such as Charlotte Gainsbourg, Daft Punk, Beastie Boys, Bloc Party, and Nero. He has also composed and produced songs for Charlotte Gainsbourg, Katerine, Juliette Armanet, Kavinsky, Frank Ocean, Uffie and Woodkid, and he has composed soundtracks for the films Our Day Will Come, The World Is Yours and Steak. Many of his tracks have been used on television and in video games.
Vincent Belorgey, known professionally as Kavinsky, is a French musician, producer, DJ, and actor. His production style is reminiscent of the electropop film soundtracks of the 1980s. Kavinsky claims that his music is inspired by thousands of movies he watched as a young boy and that he has cherry-picked the best parts from them, consolidating them into one concept. Kavinsky has been compared to many similar French house artists, including Danger and French duo Daft Punk.
