Macomb Mall is an enclosed shopping center located in Roseville, Michigan. Opened in 1964, it features Kohl's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Hobby Lobby, and At Home as anchor stores. The mall is managed by Lormax Stern.
Macomb Mall was developed in 1964 by the Schostak Brothers of Detroit, Michigan. The mall opened with Sears, Crowley's, and Kresge as its anchor stores. [1] [2] The next year, a two-screen movie theater opened near Sears. [3] An expansion completed in 1986 added a third anchor store, MainStreet (sold to Kohl's in 1989) and over 40 new stores. [4] Old Navy was added as part of a 1999 renovation as the first Old Navy store in Macomb County. [5] In 1999 Crowley's went bankrupt and sold its store to Value City.
Schostak continued to manage the mall until 2004, when it was put on the market. [6] Thor Equities acquired the mall that year. Value City closed its store in March 2008. [7]
In late 2011, Macomb Mall was almost closed due to one of Thor Equities' loans defaulting. [8] The property was sold to Cushman & Wakefield in 2011, [9] and again to Lormax Stern in mid-2013. [10]
In December 2013, Lormax Stern announced an $8 million renovation plan that would involve the demolition and reconstruction of the theater complex, as well as the demolition of the former Crowley's/Value City building for Dick's Sporting Goods. [11] Ulta and Shoe Carnival were also confirmed as future tenants, [12] followed by H&M in 2015. [13] These changes shored up the mall and added new vitality to its operations, as the occupancy rate increased from about two-thirds to over 90%. [14]
In April 2015, the movie theater, which had expanded to eight screens and become part of Silver Cinemas, closed, and was demolished the following year. [15] Also in 2015, a new building was constructed near Dick's Sporting Goods, featuring new tenants, such as 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza. [16]
In 2015, Sears Holdings spun off 235 of its properties, including the Sears at Macomb Mall, into Seritage Growth Properties. [17] On June 22, 2017, it was announced that the Sears in Macomb Mall would be closing. A portion of the store closed early and was converted into an At Home and the auto center was converted into DieHard. The remainder of the store closed on September 17, 2017. [18]
In April 2019, it was announced that Hobby Lobby would open in the rest of the former Sears's first floor. [19] The store opened in October of that year. [20] In addition, there are plans to add a small food court next to Kohl's. [21]
Lakeside Mall is a defunct super-regional shopping mall in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Located on the M-59 commercial corridor, the mall is currently anchored by Macy's and JCPenney via exterior entrances, with two vacant anchor stores previously occupied by Lord & Taylor and Sears. With 1,550,000 square feet of retail space spanning two floors, Lakeside was the largest mall in Michigan by leasable square footage at the time of its closing.

Sears closed in September 2017, Kohl's relocated to a mixed use development on September 29, 2018, and Boston Store closed in Summer 2018 as parent company Bon-Ton went out of business. The former Sears was replaced by Dick's Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy, Round 1 Entertainment, and TJ Maxx.
West Towne Mall is a shopping mall located in Madison, Wisconsin, U.S., owned by CBL Properties. It was the first enclosed shopping center within 70 miles (110 km) of Madison with its grand opening on October 15, 1970. The mall was designed by the architect Lou Resnick and developed by Jacobs, Visconsi, and Jacobs Co., of Cleveland, Ohio, the developer of Brookfield Square in Milwaukee. The 56,000-square-foot (5,200 m2) Manchester's store was later replaced by a food court. West Towne is the sister mall to the East Towne Mall which opened a year later.
Midland Commons is an outdoor power center in Warwick, Rhode Island. It previously existed as a two-story, enclosed shopping mall. The property opened as the Midland Mall in October 1967; for several years, it co-existed with the nearby Warwick Mall that opened in 1970. The mall was renamed the Rhode Island Mall in March 1985, and experienced rapid decline as tenants relocated to the Warwick Mall in the 1990s. It was considered a dead mall by the 2000s, and the interior of the mall was closed permanently in April 2011. The property was sold in 2012 and has been under redevelopment into its current configuration as a power center since 2016.

Livonia Marketplace is an open-air shopping mall in the Detroit suburb of Livonia, Michigan. Opened in 2010, the center is anchored by Kohl's and Walmart. It occupies the site of the former Livonia Mall, which was an enclosed mall built in 1964. Charlestowne Mall was a shopping mall located in St. Charles, Illinois, United States. It was the second mall to serve the city after St. Charles Mall. Built by Wilmorite Properties, Charlestowne Mall opened for business in April 1991. Its original anchor stores were Kohl's, JCPenney, Sears, and Carson's. Regal Cinemas added a movie theater in 1999 which was sold to Classic Cinemas two years later, while JCPenney closed in 2000 and was converted in 2001 to Von Maur. The mall began experiencing a decline in tenancy in the 21st century due to its size, its location, and the opening of Geneva Commons in Geneva, Illinois in 2002. Although Wilmorite sold most of its shopping malls to Macerich in 2005, Charlestowne Mall was not included in the sale; it then changed ownership multiple times, with many of the following owners announcing plans to renovate it. None of these plans were executed, and many stores closed over time, including Sears in 2011 and Kohl's in 2016. The mall was entirely closed in 2017 except for the movie theater, Von Maur, and Carson's, which itself closed a year later. The vacant mall is owned by Urban Street Group.
Eastland Center was an enclosed shopping mall located in the city of Harper Woods, an inner-ring suburb of Detroit, Michigan, United States. Opened in 1957, the mall had been expanded several times since. K&G Fashion Superstore and Shoppers World were the final anchor stores, with four other vacant anchors left by Sears, Target, Burlington, and Macy's.
