Bosnia and Herzegovina, sometimes known as Bosnia-Herzegovina and informally as Bosnia, is a country in Southeast Europe, situated on the Balkan Peninsula. It borders Serbia to the east, Montenegro to the southeast, and Croatia to the north and southwest. In the south it has a 20 kilometres long coast on the Adriatic Sea, with the town of Neum being its only access to the sea. Bosnia has a moderate continental climate with hot summers and cold, snowy winters. In the central and eastern regions, the geography is mountainous, in the northwest it is moderately hilly, and in the northeast it is predominantly flat. Herzegovina, the smaller, southern region, has a Mediterranean climate and is mostly mountainous. Sarajevo is the capital and the largest city.

The West Herzegovina Canton is one of the cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The West Herzegovina Canton is in the Herzegovina region in the southwest of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its seat of government is in Široki Brijeg, while other municipalities within the Canton are Grude, Ljubuški and Posušje. It has 94,898 inhabitants, of whom more than 98% are ethnic Croats. Economically, it is the most developed part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in Bosnia and Herzegovina may face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Both male and female forms of same-sex sexual activity are legal in Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, households headed by same-sex couples are not eligible for the same legal protections available to opposite-sex couples.

Omladinski Fudbalski Klub Gradina Srebrenik is a professional association football club from the city of Srebrenik that is situated in the northeastern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Handball Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the top handball league in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The league is operated by the Handball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is composed of 16 teams. The champion is seeded into the EHF Champions League. Second team is seeded into EHF Cup, while third and fourth teams go to EHF Challenge Cup. The winner of the league cup is seeded into the EHF Cup Winner's Cup.

The Alliance of Independent Social Democrats is a Serb political party in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Founded in 1996, it is the governing party in Republika Srpska, with its leader, Milorad Dodik, serving as the current president of Republika Srpska. The party's vice-president, Željka Cvijanović, is the current member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while SNSD member Radovan Višković is the current prime minister of Republika Srpska.

The Croatian Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia was an unrecognized geopolitical entity and quasi-state in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was proclaimed on 18 November 1991 under the name Croatian Community of Herzeg-Bosnia as a "political, cultural, economic and territorial whole" in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and abolished on 14 August 1996.

Our Party is a social-liberal and multi-ethnic political party in Bosnia and Herzegovina, founded in 2008. Its current leader is Edin Forto. The party's founders are the Bosnian directors Danis Tanović and Dino Mustafić. The party aims to break the dominance of nationalist parties in the Bosnian political system. On 4 June 2016, Our Party became a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe.

The accession of Bosnia and Herzegovina to NATO has been under negotiations since 2008.

Bosnia and Herzegovina competed at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, from 9 to 25 February 2018, with four competitors in two sports.

Fudbalski klub Tuzla City, formerly known as Fudbalski klub Sloga Simin Han, is a professional football club based in Simin Han, Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The club will compete in the First League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the second tier of football in the country.

General elections were held in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 2 October 2022. They decided the makeup of Bosnia and Herzegovina's presidency as well as national, entity and cantonal governments.

The 2018 European Cadet Judo Championships is an edition of the European Cadet Judo Championships, organised by the International Judo Federation. It was held at the Zetra Olympic Hall in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina from 28 June to 1 July 2018. The final day of competition featured a mixed team event, won by team Russia.
