Olanchery Rajagopal is an Indian politician, former Union Minister of State, and the former MLA from Nemom and the first Bharatiya Janata Party member & its floor leader in the Legislative Assembly of Kerala. One of the major leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party from Kerala, he has held various ministerial portfolios including Defence, Parliamentary Affairs, Urban Development, Law, Justice, Company Affairs, and Railways. Rajagopal was a two-time MP in Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Indian Parliament from 1992 till 2004. O.Rajagopal was also a member of Government of Kerala's Legislative Assembly Committee on Petitions & Committee of Public Work, Transport and Communications.Rajagopal has been honored with the Padma Bhushan,the third-highest civilian honor in the country, on the eve of India’s 75th Republic Day. The award recognizes his contributions in the public sphere.

Aruvikkara is a panchayat in Thiruvananthapuram district in the state of Kerala, India. It is located on the banks of the Karamana River 15 km from Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of the state of Kerala in South India and one of the 12 panchayats that shares border with Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation. The reservoir and garden makes it a tourist spot. It is famous for the ancient Bhagavathi temple dedicated to Durga, the divine embodiment of female power, which is built on a rock. The stream in front of the temple contains large fishes, which are fed by the devotees visiting the shrine. The headquarters of the Wellington Water Distribution project is located here. The small Aruvikkara Dam which provides water to the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. G Steephen of CPI(M) is the sitting MLA of Aruvikkara constituency to the Kerala Legislative Assembly.

R. Selvaraj was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing Neyyattinkara constituency, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. He was a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the present ruling party in Kerala but resigned from the Kerala Legislature and the party on 9 March 2012 and joined Indian National Congress party. His resignation was attributed to rampant factionalism in his party. After joining the Indian National Congress, he contested the by-election from Neyyattinkara on "Hand" symbol and romped home with a margin of 6,334 votes, pushing up the ruling UDF's slender majority in the 140-member Kerala Assembly to 73. He again contested from the same constituency in 2016 and 2021. but he got defeated in both elections, i.e. for 9543 votes in 2016 and it increased to 14262 votes in 2021. He was defeated by K. Ansalan of CPI(M) in both elections.

Anoop Jacob is an Indian politician and a Member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly and Legislative Party leader of the Kerala Congress (Jacob), a constituent of the UDF political alliance. He is the son of T. M. Jacob who founded the party in 1993. Anoop represents Piravom Constituency in Kerala Legislative Assembly. He was elected to the Assembly following a by-election at Piravom in March 2012 which was necessitated due to the demise of his father, the incumbent of the constituency. He was elected in May 2016 also. In 2021 election Anoop was elected from the same constituency with a highest majority.

Saji Cherian is an Indian politician from Kerala. He currently serves as the minister for fisheries, culture & youth affairs in the second Pinarayi Vijayan government and as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Chengannur constituency. He was also the former Minister for Fisheries, Culture and Youth Affairs in the Second Vijayan ministry.Following a controversial speech in Mallappally in 2022 in which he spoke derisively of the Indian constitution, he resigned on July 6 amid mounting pressure from the opposition. He returned as the minister again on 4 January 2023 after the high court of Kerala rejected petition against him.

Adv. V. K. Prasanth, popularly known as 'Mayor Bro', is an Indian politician belonging to the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He was born and raised at Kazhakootam, Thiruvananthapuram. In 2015, aged 34, he was elected to the Kazhakoottam ward of the city, with a margin of 3,272 votes, the highest majority secured by a candidate in the corporation's history. He went on to become the 44th mayor of Thiruvananthapuram, the largest corporation and capital of Kerala.

It is also one of the 7 state legislative assembly constituencies included in the Attingal Lok Sabha constituency. As of the 2021 assembly elections, the current MLA is G. Steephen of Communist Party of India (Marxist).
